2nd Annual SunShine State Camaro Rally Locations/Dates?

Well its been a while since we brought this up so I figured I would start to stir the pot for our Second Annual Event... Please leave suggestions for a location and dates... This Year we come back wiser and Stronger so we hope to put on an even greater event for everyone to enjoy...

I think that the time of the year we would like to keep it in would be Jan,Feb,March if not it will be way to hot and the weather to unpredictable... Our first event was in Orlando but the Location is not set in stone so bring on the suggestions, keep in mind we had 125 Cars at our first event I think this one will only be Bigger...

This will be a suggestions/ Idea thread so go to town Once we have enough to go off of I will start an official Thread again...

Lets the Games Begin WoooHoooo lol...

Neither is mine... Need to think of a good place this year. We need a one stop place near a racetrack for some grudge matches.

Thats for sure.... It would be awesome to have everything in one location this time, that was the original concept luckily we were quick on our feet and handled that curve ball with no problems... We definitely need to get near a track and make a night out of it...

Having a setup like Pony Wars would be great. Have the meet in Bradenton or Gainsville would make a nice track available. At the track do the car show and people who want to race can make their runs.

Sweet, I havent been to Pony wars yet I hope to make the next one in October keeping my fingers crossed. My only issue with setting up the event like pony wars is that it might turn off a lot of people from going. Ideally it would be funner setting it up as a weekend getaway while involving as many activities as we can with the cars. ex. Racing, Shows, Hanging out, and competitions.
I think Central Locations would work best to generate the biggest turnouts will see, keep your ideas coming...

Palm Beach Gardens would be nice. We had a Corvette convention there and stayed at the Marriott--they were easy to work with. Track events at PBIR. Would be a drive for me but like the area

Why would it turn people off? We do make a weekend of it pretty much just as you described. I arrange parties and dinners and an escorted cruise, car show, racing, etc. We usually hang out well into the night. The only difference would be Camaros only whereas Pony Wars includes Ford and Mopar.

I am with regina...ask her for info on setting this up in SGMP, she can hook you up with all the contacts and the trip would be more or less same for all.. and your not just sitting in a parking lot all day hot as hell, with a CAMAROS affair only we can have a show, race, and eat and sleep all within 20 mins tops...jmho!)

Only if we rename it to the peach state camaro rally.. not quite the same ring to it. Gainsville or pbir.

We have a good relationship with PBIR and one of our sponsors Redline is a track sponsor so I think we could Already have our foot in the door if we all like Palm Beach for the next event location... Beaches, drag strips and some nightlife for the party people lol...

We can do it at another track...that's not a problem. PBIR is an awesome track I know...but almost 8 hours away for the Panhandle folks. Would like to see it more Central ...maybe at Gainesville. Was not impressed with Orlando Speedworld....so don't think I would recommend that.

The track is awesome.....but not very flexible, so that might end up being too limiting for our needs. I can contact them and see how they would be willing to work with us. I know it is not easy to set things up there in the fall because of hotels being really expensive and booked for football games. But since we are looking at the spring we might be OK .... just need to avoid being too close to Gatornationals.

Not ruling out PBIR...I know it's a very good track. Just trying to accommodate the entire state a little better, and the only 1/4 mile tracks in FL are in Gainesville, Orlando, Bradenton and Palm Beach.

Sounds good, we would also need to avoid graduations as I hear that gets pretty nutty as well. I am going to get some info from the guys at Palm Beach as well to see what we can do in the area, Does anyone have connections over at Bradenton? It would be great to compare all the prices and info on all the tracks as well as the hotels in surrounding area.

So let's start making suggestions on some months/dates?

to be honest.. i am liking the West Palm beach idea.

And you know what???? year to year we can move it around.... maybe next year we try the other coast!

I also like the Jan,Feb,March months. It's cool and no messing around with the weather.

It was a fun time, BUT unfortunately they were not very accommodating towards us...

Originally that was our plan on moving the event each year just to
Change things up. We will see how things pan out...
