Head Gaskets

Do we have a definite answer on how thick the factory gaskets are???

I am going to be changing the gasket thickness on my upcoming build, but I need to know the thickness from the factory so I can calculate the change in Compression..

Thanks for any help

I would assume it would be the same as the LS3 in the G8/Corvette. Check the compression specs on the G8 and Vette to see if they are the same as the Camaro.

Why don't you just use new head gaskets that will reach your target. You don't really need to know the Camaro's head gasket thickness unless that is the only thing you are changing (which would be a HUGE waste of time to just change head gaskets)

while head gaskets can change the cr, its not going to be enough to do a whole lot. what kind of cr are you going for?

I am going to use a normally aspirated motor until this winter...I will be running around 11:1 or 11.2:1.

Then I am building a shortblock for install this winter which will go to 9:1 and have forced induction. That is the plan right now...But I may go with a stroker instead fo forced induction. Either way it is going to be a monster.
