JUST GOT THE BAD NEWS ABOUT MY ZL1

This really Bites.

Quote From the District Manager to my Dealer.

Quote:
I just checked this order and your ZL1 allocation. As you know we had some
delays with the release of ZL1 model. Your original estimated guide number
was 2 and you have 1 unit that has been placed. Due to the delays, we had
to recalculate the dealer guide numbers and you will not receive another
2012. Because of the lost production the brand team has added your lost
2012 guide unit to your 2013 guide, so, you will have to place this order
as a 2013 model. I will provide you with more info as it becomes
available. Call me if you wish to discuss further.

Yeah this whole process sux, but they will be making the 2013's soon. Just would have been nice to have more of the summer to enjoy the car.

By the looks of the bellyaching over the 662 horse GT500, you may be able to get one or two off of your local Ford dealer by the sounds of things...lol. Sorry about your car though.

You just have to let them know that that is unacceptable and they need to find a way to get your ZL1 built.

Ugh, that blows. I'd be finding a baby to punch or throw through their window.

Well, maybe not a baby....

Sucks to hear that man. Best of luck, hopefully GM doesn't jack the price up on the '13's over the '12s...if Ford did that with my new order, I'd have to back out. My current payments are lined up to be near the max of my allocated funds.

Same thing happened to me last week. Got the dealer to do supplier pricing to keep my order there instead of shopping for one on the ground.

Right now it suckes because I have to wait longer but I am getting a better deal on the car.

Just so you know the autotrader cars are not all cars really for sale. I called on 4 and all for were customer cars that were in route and added to the site automatically.

Ebay cars are real. I almost bought a silver one in miami but the suplier price on got on my 2012 order and cost of shipping that car made me reconsider.

If I were not for my wifes hate of mustang's I would have probably ordered a 2013gt500 just due to my nature of not likely excused when people drop the ball. GM dropped the ball don't give me excuses just make it right. the dealer did so I stayed.

That sux Ted, i am in the same boat. GM issued 22 allocations for the province i live in. My dealers (mine) allocation was number 18. With the QC issues GM only picked up 15 allocations, i am sure its the same case for all of us that didn't get picked up for 2012 luck of the draw.

I came back today with a new 2013 order and new order number. From the quote you posted above it sounds like he is saying that your 2012 order will roll over to 2013. Did you have to place a new order?

That is the pits. I hope your dealer is going to honor the 2012 pricing for the 2013. I have not seen what the MY 2013 MSRP is, but at a minimum they owe you a lock on the price since you had nothing to do with missing 2012. Good luck man!

I actually looked at Ford site last night! Then quickly went back to C5 forums. I need my car, I'm actually taking my son out this weekend to look at his first
car this Sunday. It's going to be a used car and I'm taking him to breakfeast
first to explain the ropes of how to act. This should be an interesting father and son event.

Same happened to me. My dealer notified me that despite the fact he was to receive two allocations, there would not be enough time to build my ZL1 and it would roll into the 2013 year. After a long wait, this is very disappointing news. I find this not a good way to treat loyal customers and Camaro enthusiasts. These business practices will not engender good feelings toward the brand to say the least. Does anyone have suggestions as how to proceed? Regards.
