Number Plate Formats - UK
So, I see a lot of mis-aligned Custom UK number plates, as regards the layout of the letters.
Here are the UK Rules: http://www.newreg.co.uk/services/dvl...ic_plate_rules Supposedly these rules are enforced with a £1000 fine. But I cannot believe those with plates like 'SUSS 23', 'BOBC 1', etc get fined every month and keep paying the fines at £1000 a go ?! Here is my current attempts at getting my Number Plate to fit into a Frame (or not) and onto One line. Is it worth the Risk? Is there an 'Import' Camaro rule that sets me Free ? :-O

No clue man, wish I could help. I get my plates through the RAF base here. Pretty sure I don't even have the option of personalized.

We are fortunate as drivers of privately imported US cars to be able to use a smaller plate and letter font, than an official import. I wouldn't want to say that the cops may think you're taking the piss with a one line format, but thay don't seem to like anything that doesn't fit in with their little measuring template. However, I have seen several US cars with the front plate as you want, and they have had no worries from plod, and I have silver on black on my 08 motorbike, without being pulled in 4 years since it's addition. It's just a question of luck I suppose. I do know that if you are pulled, you usually get a rectification notice, stating that the vehicle must be returned to it's correct status within a week, or you'll get a ticket. So as long as you've got the original handy, I'd go for it. Here is some official info. section 14a is the place to be:http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2...ulation/5/made

Redleader, you might want to remove SS from your Drives: section.
