I spent 4 hours working on the car. 1. Meguiars clay bar 2. Meguiars Ultimate Polish 3. Meguiars NXT 2.0. I am very happy with the results. I used a 10" Buffer and took my time and I feel it really paid off. Now if it would just stay clean forever

Good work! Clay bar is no fun, but worth the results!

Looking good! NXT 2.0 is the OTC product I would use before I got into Adam's. But I was really impressed and happy with the results that the NXT would give my car.

@belliott

I researched this forum for all of the products and although there are a ton of great items, the OTC-pluses of MEguiars clay and NXT better fit my needs.

Iwantone2- I've really been thinking about swallowing the cost for Adams. To try it out Since you have used both would you recommend Adams over NXT? is it really worth the money?

belliott - I noticed that Adam's has a bit more durability than the NXT. I could go probably 3 months with the NXT before I had to re-apply it again, but with Adam's I am seeing at least 6 months before I have to re-apply.

The cost between the NXT and Buttery Wax really isn't that much different if you can find a local distributor of Adam's Polishes.

To be honest though, I would run through your NXT before purchasing another product.

Iwantone- I really appreciate that. I just read so much about Adams on here, it starts to make you question everything. I love waxing the car so every three months is just fine with me. Actually I have been doing it every month Thanks again for you honesty.

belliott- car looks great! I use to use NXT 2.0 too. Your bottle actually looks like 1.0. 1.0 had a green lid and didn't say 2.0 on it. I enjoyed using it, but it just didn't last for me. I switched to botique products and never looked back. NXT is a very nice OTC product. If you like what you have, then there is no need to switch. I just wasn't happy with it so I switched to a ton of others.

Looks nice.

Due to budget I've been flirting with grabbing a 10" buffer to help speed things along vs by hand. Any suggestions for someone on a budget all summer?

Is that 6 months for Adams Buttery Wax or for Americana? ...and how many coats was that?

Neither will get you six months unless you don't drive the car much. Machine Super Sealant would be the one to last six months especially if you top it with Americana. Buttery wax will probably last 1-2 months on a DD and maybe 2-3 months on a garage queen.

Wow! You clayed, polished and waxed in just 4 hours! My usual wash and dry time is about 2 1/2 hours, I move slow. Car looks great!

Are you saying you get 6 months out of Buttery wax?

Believe it or not, yeah. It's been at least six months since I last waxed my car and I'm still having the water bead nicely.

And it's just one coat. Maybe I should fully clay bar the crap out of my car and try again...
