Any idea how to remove/buff out scratches that are already there before installing this item?

I've read that Meguiar's quick wax works well, as well as Meguiar's PlastX, although I have not tried either... I imagine any non abrasive wax or polish will help with any scratches you may have already incurred.

I have some scratches on my radio face but once you put one of these on, they are hardly noticeable, although your results may vary depending on how damaged your radio face is already.

Video installation instructions:

Thanks for all of the orders so far! All orders have been shipped!

Please remember, this is static cling vinyl material, it can be peeled off any time you desire without leaving any residue. I've had one of these on my car for close to a year and it didn't come off before I pulled it off to install a new one for this video. I also use this same static cling material as the backing for my car number(s) at the drag strip, that gets placed on the outside of the windows, I install them the same way, and I have not lost a number yet in about 40-50 passes this year.

I've used NOVUS 3 step plastic scratch remover on many items all with very nice results!

I plan to order this very soon for my new radio.

WORD OF CAUTION! Be careful applying pressure while installing. I applied a decal to my radio when the car was new and two small cracks showed up a very short time later. Fortunately, the dealer said it was covered under warranty.

I just installed mine, and it looks great.
When I first peeled off the sheet, it had some sort of prints all over it (barely noticeable and transparent, but still noticeable) that didn't simply wipe off.
I had to install the cover on my radio and remove it a couple of times on each side before the prints finally came off with all the wiping/cleaning.
Thanks Jason!

Hmmmm, that's interesting... If they weren't finger prints (that should have wiped off easily, and I try to wipe each one off before packaging if I think I touch the material), I would imagine it was one from one of the rollers on the plotter that feeds the material on the knurled feed roll... I have several here that I have pulled out to throw away because I didn't want to ship them that have the "roller teeth marks" if you will... If this sounds like what you are talking about and you aren't happy with it I will gladly send you another one (without the prints of course ). Let me know, and thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Hi Jason, no it wasn't fingerprints because I saw them on the sheet before I peeled it off the white backpaper. I wish I would've taken a picture of them, but I assumed they'd easily come off or that perhaps they were on the white paper and not the clear sheet itself. From the way you describe the "roller teeth marks", it sounds like that's what it was.

I was actually considering just biting the bullet and ordering another one since it's not that expensive anyway, and I don't really like the way it eventually turned out . Perhaps it's as a result of having to remove it and reinstall it several times and the excess wiping or perhaps it's me being too anal. I must admit, whatever those prints were it looks like they eventually came off...at least for the most part.

That's exactly what it was then. Sorry about that.

No need to pay for another one. PM me your address and I'll send another one out today.
