Recommended oil?

So I know the ZL1 is supposed to use Dexos oil, and maybe I am confused here, but I did a search for this and came up with several hits. So my question is, what type (brand) of oil are my fellow ZL1 drivers planning on using?

Dexos1. Look on the back of an oil container and it'll say : certified.... And day whether dexos1 is a cert for that oil.

Both Mobil1 5w-30 and Mobil1 5w-30 Extended are Dexos1 certified.

Mobil 1 is what I'll be using. I'm sure there are better and/or just as good oils out there, but I've always used Mobil 1 with no problems yet.

Castrol Edge 5w30 is GM Dexos1 approved. Another option. I'll be using Mobil1.

I've used Mobil1 in my cars for years and I'm very happy. I've heard good things about Amsoil but don't know if it's better. I'll stick with Mobil1. Planning the first change at 3000 miles and every 5k afterwards.

AMSoils can be purchased in a fully synthetic form.

Amsoil is good stuff. I'll be using it as soon as I get several thousand miles on the engine. Amsoil meets the Dexos1 specs in thier 5w-30 Signature series oil they just chose not to purchase the rights to display the Dexos1 logo.

do you know of any official tests done between amsoil and mobil 1 5w30? I checked online, there's some old tests but when you look at the actual oil specs on their webpages, mobil1 is slightly better.
thanks

I noticed that Royal Purple is Dexos1 also, anyone planning on using it? I have seen some mixed reviews.

I changed the rear diff and the engine oil in a M6 2002 Camaro SS SLP Edition I had with Royal Purple! Worked wonders!
