Plasidip or no plastidip? opinions wanted!
I know what I like, and I'm going to do what I want to do.
But I would love to hear some opinions on what the rest of you think and how -if- plastidip has worked for you??

You'll find many supporters here of the sinful stuff. Do the wheels, just keep it off the paint for kryssakes.

if done right, with a lot of coats, i say go for it. I'm talking about at least 1 can per rim.

Agree did it for a month a two to see how black wheels would look and it lasted until I felt like going back to polished.

Well say they get dirty, which they will, you have to basically remove the whole paint and start fresh right? OR can you just clean the rims with the dip still on it and have it look good again.

I love plastidip
I say do it. cause if you dont like it you can just take it off I have had plastidip on my car for over a year wash it once a week and no real problems Only spot I have trouble with is right behind the front tires cause the piece is so fine it rubs part off every once in a while. ( only had to redo the small piece on one side twice in a year so its all good) I have it down now that I can do any of the pieces in less than 20 min just from practice.

I did it and it looks and holds up great! Do it! And any overspray can be removed with some turtle wax bug and tar remover.

As for keeping it clean use a rubber/vinyl dressing product like ADAM's VRT.
Lay off any tireshine products as most eat into plastidip. Here's how mine looks now. Did mine last August and its a daily driver

i was looking into powder coating my wheels but this method looks just as good and without the hefty $650 i was quoted. i know the pc will last longer but even if the plasti dip comes off in one spot you can just spray it over the spot and it will fill in. correct?

I plan to dip my wheels this weekend. Will probably be doing the taillight bezels, bowtie emblems, and rear strip between the taillights as well.

I did it, and love it! Would do it again in an instant. I also did my bowties, and the Camaro letters on the side, and plan to do the taillight bezels this weekend!
Go for it! Best part is, if you don't like it, you can peel it off, no harm done.

I agree after looking at the pics again. Black wheels don't seem to go that well with RJT.

I did hood spears on my carbonfiber hood just to see. I think I like it so much that over the winter I'll make it permanent.
