LG Motorsports and American Car Magazine do One Lap Of America

Hey guys,

Some of you maybe familiar with the annual event 'One Lap of America' put on by Brock Yates and Tire Rack. Well this year we are pleased to be working with a couple of awesome guys from the UK publication 'American Car Magazine' who will be taking our own shop Research and Development Camaro on the event this year and documenting it on the site as well as on Facebook with live updates.

You can read more about the One Lap below as well as a couple of quick videos from Chris and Dom picking up the car yesterday morning. GOOD LUCK GUYS!!

After the first day of competition in the One Lap of America. The LG Motorsports/American Car Magazine Camaro is currently third in class only 5 points separate the top three!

I saw them compete yesterday at the Autobahn in Joliet. Talked to the guys and they were in high spirits, easy to answer questions and ready to tackle the week. Of course it was quite a shock to hear the British accents coming from the driver/co-driver for a car from Texas.

The did surprisingly well considering they had to deal with a spinning green Challenger in their way on their second lap. They still had quite good times according to my stopwatch though. I look forward to seeing how well they do at Road America later in the week. Road Trip!

Give 'em hell guys.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

The second session in High planes the boys broke some driveshaft bolts. They Limped it to Len Lyall Chevrolet in Denver on ONE driveshaft bolt!

BIG thanks to the guys at the dealership, they would not be going far if it were not for them!

Sounds like they need a one piece from DSS.

At least they are still going. Keep up the good work.

Now that's running OLA in style.. Dealer support? Wow we blew a clutch in the '62 vette in '98 or '99. The dealer in OK whom I won't name wouldn't give us the time of day. We finally put in a '72 Buick Gran Sport Clutch and plate in a hole in the wall shade tree shop, Took us about 3 hours and a 24 pack of Natty light.

The guys had a little off road excursion at turn 14 in the morning but managed to really shine at Road America. (I warned you RA eats brakes ) It looks like they are going to finish up second in class though. Way to go!!!!

Road America is a very demanding track and deserves respect. If you need any proof of this just take a look at this.

This is what is left of a CTS/V Manual Wagon that went off track at turn 8. The driver was walking around the pits right after this. Amazing.

Should have a full write up from the guys in the coming weeks but in the mean time, thought this was a cool picture of the car pulling a wheel on one of the road courses..

LG always has put out a great product. They R&D all the stuff they sell, and use it at the track. Another graet business model!!

Thanks!

If anyone was in DFW, we had the car at Cars and Coffee this past Saturday.

Of course you can almost always catch it here at the shop as well.
