Advise About Warranty/Service Being Conducted

Let me start by saying that my car is currently at the dealer for a check engine light. The codes it is showing are lean codes. I am being told that too much air is getting into the cylinders (on both sides). This is the sixth time they have had my car for this piticular issue. This is third time they have had it a week or more and they have had it almost three weeks and counting this time. Some of the things I know that have been replaced by the dealer with new OEM parts are: plugs, coils pack, O2 sensors (4), mass air flow sensor, ECM, throttle body, intake, fuel rails, injectors, and the air intake. Now they are talking about trying something else with the plugs and if that doesn't work they are going to put a new motor in it. When this issue started I had 11,000 miles on it and it has 12,000 on it now. My question is what options do I have in all of this? I am not sure how car fax works but will all of this not be attached to my vin if I ever sell my car? If so will that not lower the value of my car? The dealer has already mentioned buying back the car but I really would rather have mine if possible. But not if it is going to be diminished by all of this. So what can I or should I do? What can I or can't I do in this situation? Need to know from ppl in the know and I know there has to be some ppl on this site in the know! So plz help a fellow Camaro brothren out with some advise! Thanks!

No, warranty work won't show up on carfax.

Wait for their fix, but a new engine should solve it.

Now that would certainly show up on the CarFax report.

Just as an update if anyone cares, warranty work does indeed show on car fax I ran one on my car and it's all there. The accuracy is another thing.

As far as my car goes I finally got to talk to the GM tuner at the dealership and he explained to me that the problem they can't seem to fix is that on both sides of the motor it is getting too much air into the cylinders that is not being measured accross the mass air flow sensor. Which is in turn making the injectors stay open more than twice as long as they should be trying to make up for the lean condition. Hence throwing the lean codes and possibly the reason for the crappy MPG. They just can't figure out where the extra air is coming from. So as of yesterday they have ordered another LS3 crate motor that arrived today and will be installed starting today hopefully. It's funny the only thing GM is letting them take off the old motor is the injectors and the fuel rails. Seems kinda weird to me but whatever. So I hope to know by Friday, Monday at the latest, if it is fixed or not. However I do not have a very good feeling since the tuner at the dealership said that the GM engineer that had been there working on my car also, told him they had a vette at another dealer in town with the same issue, they replaced the motor and it didn't fix the problem. That's why they have tried everything they did to mine before replacing the motor. If this does not fix my problem, they will be buying it back, I'm done! So I guess all I can do is hurry up and wait now. But this sux! :(

Well if it works, you got a brand new motor! If it doesn't, you get a new car! I would look at it as a win win.

Sent from the rocket in my pocket, my all powerful DROID BIONIC.
