TSB: Rear spoiler causing deck lid paint chips

I remember reading something about this. Now I've found it happening on mine. Anyone have a link to more info.
Thanks.

Mine did it too. I took it back to my dealer and they corrected the spoiler problem and repainted the trunk lid with absolutely no problems. That was a year ago and it hasn't happened again. Hopefully you will have the same experience.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to search later.

But...is it a specific area that the paint is chipping? Mine is about 6 inches inward from the drivers side front (towards rear window) side. And it's just barely under the spoiler and follows the line of the spoiler.

Also had it happen. Take it to the dealership. I had them throw on my new spoiler instead of the factory one after it was painted.

Happened to me as well. First time in they did a crappy job, they just used touch up paint. Which looked like a second grader did it. Complained and they finally painted the whole trunk and laid down new stripes. Make sure they order the new part numbers for the gasket for the spoiler. All is good now.

This brings back nightmares for me.....I brought my car in (I had a 2010 black SS) for this same issue and ended up having to work with GM after the dealership did about $6,000.00 worth of damage to the rear end paint....I now have a 2012 Red/black SS after several months of pulling my hair out! I would caution on letting any dealership that I did not have absolute confidence in touch the paint...but that is just me :-)

I wouldn't have them paint the entire trunk. Keep as much original paint as possible.
