Need oil pump!!!!

Got the low oil pressure light today, and the gauge said 0! Going to get a melling pump and change to that!

I have an LS3!

So my question is, how difficult is it to change yourself! I am somewhat mechanically inclined, is or are there any thing I should know before I tackle this job! Or are there any how to's on here!

Any help or pointers would and will be appreciated!!!

It's not terrible, but it's pretty involved. If you feel comfortable tearing into the front end of your motor, then it's no big deal. Just pull your front cover off your motor, and your oil pump is down at the bottom. The pick up tube is one of the worst parts of the job. Good luck, and if you go on to do it, post a DIY!!

Do you have to pull any pullies or the harmonic balancer off? That's main main concern!!! If not it seems pretty straightforward!

Yes, harmonic balancer will have to come off.

So if I was to have a stuck valve, is there oil still running through the motor? Or not? It's been sitting over night at my daughters house and read that you can start it and give it a high rev and unstick it! But don't know if that's a good idea since all the oil has drained down!

Or would you not even attempt that and have it towed?

Definitely have it towed. No sense risking a damaged engine.
