CAI.......HELP.......

Would a CAI void your warranty ?

What would be the best one to install

Would it need a tune if one was installed......I know a tune
would void warranty.

I need to gain about 5/10ths in a 1/8 mi. DS...as I have a neighbor that wants to race his cutlas that runs a 7.45.

How close would it be...am I wasteing my time ?

How close would it be...am I wasteing my time? There will ALWAYS be a faster car.

Next best thing would be to do any mods. That wouldn't void my warranty
And give me the best performance possible....just don't know if it's possible to improve on what GM has done without voiding warranty and I won't do that.

To gain .5 secs in 1/8 would require something like a pulley swap and a tune. Or you could make up time with slicks!

So far every CAI system for the ZL1 I've seen said you need a tune to go with it.
Hopefully there will be some where you don't, so you don't have to void the warranty right away.

Here is an idea for the manufacturers on this site. With 580 HP on tap already there will be a fair number of owners that may just be looking for something a little better looking than the stock flex tube. How about a carbon fiber replacement that doesn't need a tune. Like the Halltech tube for the CTS-V.
