Agreed... if that doesn't work, you'll probably need a buffer.

Most likely etching, in which case clay bar is useless. But it couldn't hurt to try it. You're going to need to polish it out, I'm guessing.

I have buffed out bird poop etching on the car's paint and bug etching off the bumpers with rubbing compound followed by sealant wax. It's completely gets rid of it. I buffed by hand, machines leave swirls.

Machines leave swirls? Lol.

That could not be more wrong. But this is the Internet, you can post whatever you want with absolutely no facts behind it.

Ok excuse me, "the only machine I have" would leave swirls. (a drill with a buffing pad)

I will. I just didn't want other people to read that and come away thinking something incorrect that would impact their future detailing results.

Seriously no problem. I must have been doing something wrong every time I used a machine if I was not supposed to get swirls.

I have never buffed my Camaro with a machine nor have I used a machine since 2004 so maybe products today are made much better than then. All I know is I messed up the paint on my black Dodge Ram back then trying to machine buff limb rubs and got some horrible swirls and spider webs on the paint. That is what brought me to believe that machines are no good for dark colors.

If I can use a machine buffer and not get swirls now, I will be all over it because hand buffing is a pain. Luckily the Camaro is always garaged, never driven in the winter weather, and no bird poop so far. Buffing has not been needed in my 2.5 years of ownership. My work truck can use a good buffing as it has some limb rubs and scratches.

A dinosaur must have thrown up on my car. Some bird absolutely crapped all over mine two days ago. I have to get it washed tomorrow.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying.

Yeah if you have any questions about machine buffing, send me a message. I'd be happy to help.
