Borla Atak
I just ordered the Borla Atak axle back for my 2012 2ss. Has anyone else installed this exhaust? Was there any cutting involved? Do you think its too loud inside the car? Are you happy with the sound? Thanks

If you bought an axle back there will be cutting involved. I don't know what it sounds like, but it shoud save you some weight.

I have the catbacks and love them. Paul SS is right though , cutting and elding will be required for yours.

I have the Atak cat back which is supposed to be louder than the axle back. It sounds good. It is not anywhere near as loud as shown in Borla's video. I am still a little dissapointed. I do not have any drone(SS 6m) and if you dont get on it not a big difference from stock system in the car. The system is very well made and went on perfectly. Borla also has excellent customer service. If I drove my car everyday it would be perfect but I use it just for fun and I wanted something a little louder in the car. If I had to do it again I would have gotten an SLP loudmouth. I drove a car at the dealership with that set up and it was loud. I would have saved alot of $ too.

I've had my Borla ATAK cat back on the car now for almost a year. Love the sound! It's what these cars should sound like from factory. Now, I also have long tube headers with my setup, so it set it over the top. There are some fellas on here that have cutouts with their setup. Some guys just like it obnoxiously LOUD! Good luck with your installation!

I've got the ATAK axle back and love them =) Yes, there are two cuts to be made, but make sure you follow the exact measurements in the instructions. It could affect where the tips sit coming out of the valance. As far as welding, that would probably be optional...they come with two beefy clamps to attach the ATAKS after the cut is made.

I have the catback and love it. The sound inside the car is not as loud as the Borla video but get someone to drive your car and listen. It sounds great! Tip on getting the exhaust out of the hangers: run a piece of rope around the rubber and then while holding the rope, push the exhaust out with your foot. You will see what Im talking about once you dig into it.

Have had my Borla Atak Axleback on the car for about a month now. Loving the sound! Have a friend at a muffler shop and he welded them on and cranked car so I could hear it, was disappointed wasn't as loud as before with just the muffler delete. So I said off with the resonators. Once he removed those and put straight pipe in its place he cranked it again and OH MY! Love it! Hubby said it is too loud but what does he know....lol To me it is not any louder inside the car than when I just had the muffler delete. I am now trying to decide about have a x-pipe or h-pipe put on to help deepen the tone. I am happy with it!

You should have the h pipe still there as it came with it. tru X may deepen just a very little bit but could get raspy also so research it.

small tube shapped mufflers on the M6 cars right behind the h pipe to tone out rasp and drone and more quiet also.A6 has one giant one where the h pipe is on a m6 car.

I love my ATAK. I added some LT's about 4 months after and it sounds crazy. The ATAk by itself got me by as it did make the car louder but not loud enough for me. The WOT is good but still a little too quite at idle.
Cabin noise is minimal, or at least it doesn't bother me or my wife. I ride windows down a lot though so I got the wind to even things out. I just want to hear it as much as possible.

Got the Borla ATAK on my car, as well as ARH 1 7/8's, and a big cam. Car is loud with that combo! I like it, just wish i could loose some of the raspy tone of it.
