Rear noise at the wheel. Video........ help please......
Make it quick and simple. I can see it, hear it and feel it but I still don't know where it's coming from.
Had my son put the car in Drive and Reverse a number of times. The clank is quite loud. And thoughts??? Warning: A frustrated cuss word at the end. Just leaving these here in case. TSB# 09-04-95-001B washer: 20825083 nut: 13217120 Last edited by PQ; 05-11-2012 at 12:24 PM. |

Bad?
Not good? Are you sure it is in the hub and not the CV? |

If you jack it up... put it in neutral and spin the tires do you hear it... or just roll it forward? Gotta be coming from the pumpkin... tooth missing or something?
If you roll it forward a bit will it do the same thing...? I know lots of questions but maybe someone smart will come in and recognize this noise... |

Could it be a broken cage in the CV...

I was going to say the same thing since the hub wasn't moving.
PQ no need to appoligize for the foul mouth word at the end I think all of us who are modded have given our cars a few of those words b4 lol |

I've never heard this type of noise on any car I've ever had. So I'm at a loss.
I guess I'll have to take it apart. I sure am sick of all the rear end problems I've had. It's crazy. Broken hanger bearing, LCA, struts, and it's just Fing wired. I don't have THAT much power. |

The suspension lifts a tad. The rotors start to move.... all because the load is added as it's put in gear. It appears the axle moves as it pops.

Definitely CV then... good news is it's an easy fix... might as well get axles while you are at it..

I am supposed to leave to go to Atlanta Saturday morning. Is it unsafe to do so and deal with this Monday or should I drive the Jeep to Atlanta?

Spin your tire in neutral and see if you can hear it. Owen has a stack of stock axles here too.
