The applique can be applied to front and rear mats, as well as a trunk mat. The applique process is done on high speed machines that allow for the precise duplication of complex and detailed designs. Then the applique is heat bonded and recessed into the mat material with specially designed heat presses. The recessing feature of Lloyd's embroidered appliques improves the durability and the finished appearance of the entire mat.

Lloyd Mats (Lloyd) is the largest U.S. "all model" manufacturer of custom fit floor mats. The company started business in 1974. In 1978 Lloyd began manufacturing custom floor mats. Custom floor mats are currently the only product manufactured and sold. In 1999 Lloyd's employees purchased 100% of Lloyd's shares under a qualified Employee Stock Ownership Program. Every employee is now also an owner of the company and the quality shows.

Lloyd is housed in a large floor mat manufacturing plant in Los Angeles, California. Mat patterns are stored and cut using AutoCAD controlled, ultrasonic cutting equipment. Lloyd has a pattern for virtually every make and model of car, truck or van sold in the United States from 1960 to the present. Development of embroidery computer programs and the actual mat embroidery are both performed in Lloyd's plant. Lloyd's mats are finished with a color coordinated, nylon velour or vinyl mat edging.

I agree, very good questions. I know this is a subjective question but, is the optional $ 10.00 neon vinyl edging worth the extra money??? I would want them in Silver Camaro SS Lettering and borders. I just wonder how that looks and if might just be better to just go with the standard borders. I was going to go with the Luxe Mats but they don't offer the borders and they are more expensive.

What I gathered from their reply to question 2) was that the only way to get a colored vinyl edge binding (even for a non-neon color) that is a different color than the mat color, is to select the neon vinyl edge binding option.

The vinyl edging is worth it for sure in the front, not necessarily the rear. Also, Silver lettering with a silver boarder would look very good. The customers that got the red lettering with red boarders, and the same with yellow, etc. look very good, makes the interior pop!

Luxe is a much more plush mat and costs a little extra. The Ultimat is the best all around unless your looking for a plush luxurious mat.
