CAI Installed - Pics and Videos

Finally got around to installing a cold air intake. Went with CAI after reading the zillion threads here on it. And Wow what a difference. It sounds better and I can feel that nip when I punch it.

So here's thread number zillion and one with pics and videos

Install pics can be found on the link below

And here's a before and after revving sound video

Just so happens my CAI, Inc. came in this afternoon. I'll install first thing Sat morning and use your awesome pics as a reference for fitment, etc. Question: looks as if you chose to not do the shrink wrap around the crankcase vent tube??

Thanks . Actually it was more because I did not have a heat gun on me rather than choosing not to do it. Wonder if a hair dryer will work. Need to get to that next.

And yeah be careful when you screw in the cover for the box. It's very easy for the screw driver to slip and scratch the top. I got a small scratch already on it. :( But that apart you will love this mod.

Did this late in the evening yesterday so there wasn't enough light plus I need to get a good tool for the cuts. That's going to be a part 2 install once I'm equipped.

My CAI/scoop/bottle should arrive on Monday. What's the deal with the shrink wrap? Does that come with the intake?

Shrink wrap is included with kit. Used hair dryer on mine, no issues.

I know a lot of people use a Dremel to make the cut for the scoop, and I do have a Dremel, but I got a tip from a previous poster that he used tin snips, and they worked great! I can't see how it would be easier with a Dremel IMHO. You're only cutting into some soft plastic. Sorry I don't have any pics, but it was really easy to do, and the cuts came out really clean.

Good luck with whatever method you decide to use, and you will certainly appreciate the extra HP the scoop will give your car.
