I am getting a replacement 2012 1ss. the build should be this week, how close is that to the end of the 2012 run?

I know that dealers, even with allocations, can no longer order a 2012

Funny, I have the build sheet, checked the status with Chevy, and it is scheduled for build. Good thing you do not know everything.

As I understand it 5/18 is the last day that 2012's will be built. Then the plant will shut down for a couple of weeks for retooling for the 2013's. I tried to order a 2012 at first but was placed in an allocation available pool...this means that if an order fell through that was to be built my order could then be picked up. By most accounts, this was never going to happen...the sales manager at my dealership was the only person who thought this was possible. They were willing to let my 2012 order ride and also let me order a 2013 on April 29. If my 2012 order went through I would get that car. If not, my 2013 order was already in the queue. At some point after this week my 2012 order will just die and be pulled out.

At the moment, even with allocations, dealers can not order 12s. But if your car is a replacement, I am sure it was done differently than our TRE or SRE orders are.

Correct, yes, they will be shutting down for a few weeks for retool and such. I think they are only accepting 2012 orders for customer service issues, like OPs car.

Only reason I say replacement is because the 2012 I finally got in Feb. had problems and they finally agreed to give me an identical car, minus the problems I hope. Just a sold order though.

He is right. Dealers can't order 2012's anymore. You're order was obviously placed before this week.
