Exhaust/headers question

Ok, so I have done some looking, found a couple threads related, but no clear answers.

I currently have a JBA catback system installed on my car. I am looking to do these http://www.jegs.com/i/JBA/578/6813S/10002/-1
headers. Do they hook right up to the stock cats?

Also, are midpipes just a term for a pipe that deletes the cats?

A little confused about the exhaust nomenclature I guess.

Thanks in advance for the help

Mid pipes are the piping between headers/manifold and catback. They are either catted(have cats) or off road(no cats).

Good luck

So if i bought the headers above, and these mid pipes
http://www.jegs.com/i/JBA/578/6812SD/10002/-1
then this will all hook up to the JBA catback that I already have?

This is what confuses me. The above posted midpipes are very short and stubby, this too are called mid pipes and are far longer.

Those appear to connect to shorty header that just replace the exhaust manifold. Long tube headers are almost the full length of the stock manifold and catted mid pipe

Yeah. The cat hooks to the backside of the midpip, make sure the exit on the midpip is the same diameter of the catback. The inlet can and will probably be bigger as it connects to the usually larger header "collector"

He removes the code from the computer that produces the catalytic code.. Texas speeds midpipes are shaped like cats so they pass a visual. They won't connect properly to your headers I dont believe.

In my state I need to still have cats and rear o2 sensors, I have bungs welded in my exhaust and put my rear o2 sensors in when I go to the inspection and tie my wires above the trans. Lol..

Either way u need to buy hi flow cats, or find an inspector that will let it slide for 20 bucks or something

If I were you I would look at the Texas speed t304 stainless header and catless midpipes that look like cats.

You would probably need to cut the flang off ur catback at the very beginning and use exhaust clamps to tie them together.

Best place for those?

Also, do you need anything to protect the wires when you go with headers?

Best place for what?

Most people just use zip ties to tie wires out of the way.
