All my monies going to the car and the PS4. I wish I had more left over to build a PC.

Love running some of my games on SSD now.

Civ 5 loads a game in about 15 seconds, previous Falcon took maybe 1:00 or so with the regular hard drive. If you start a new game, it's started before Liam Neeson gets two sentences into his intro for whatever civ you're playing.

Converted a video file of about 45 minutes, and it took about 1.5 hours...a similar file previously would have taken 3 or so hours.

Finally have things set up (mostly). On wi-fi here where I'm staying for the next 6-8 months, so still working on setting up a bridge so I can have all my machines on the same subnet.

nVidia =

AMD =

I'll never own an AMD product. A vow I made years ago before they even started making video cards.

I've had Nvidia chips crap out on me, but never AMD (they were ATI at the time). But I can't see what the Titan offers that makes it cost $400 more.

Too different for what they are.
Though for the cost I'd rather go 7990. (Cost right now on newegg ~700)

I think right now though, after owning two GTX 670s and three 7970s, I'm going to stick around with AMD for awhile.
Though not fair to judge a 670 vs 7970. I still am going to stay AMD for a few.
This is my first time trying AMD cards. I've always been Nvidia, which is why I got the 670s. But got 7970s to replace them.

What's the difference between them? Besides the AMD having 2 physical chips.

Besides cost, thats about it. I just find it unfair to put a dual chip card vs a single chip card.

to answer your question, the performance is close. Really I think go with the best deal you can get.

I have the scores for SLI and Crossfire with my 3770k @4.5Ghz
but this is my score for my 2600k stock, and 670 stock and 7970 stock
Single card Fire Strike
7970+2600k
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/468208
670+2600k
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/631423

Dual Card Fire Strike (again stock speeds)
7970(2x)+3770k@ 4.5Ghz
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/332153
670(2x)+3770k@4.5Ghz
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/305777

Those are just some of the tests I have.

Interesting.

@mikey... If you go with the 670, go with the 4gb. I had the 3gb version of the 670, and the 4gb the extra 1gb made a HUGE difference in frame rates on my machine (10%). I'm running SLI'd 670 4gb cards and love it.

I've posted this before- but here's the benchmark for it: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6315245
670 4gb (2x) +3770k @stock speed. I don't run any overclocking yet.

Okay I've decided to build a PC, but I need some advice on what to choose.

Should I go with an Ivy Bridge-E i7 or the new Haswell i7? And secondly, I'm not sure what GPU to go with; I'm trying to decide on the 290X, the Titan (depending on a price cut), the 780, or the 780 TI (announced today). Any advice?
