On another note I met a fellow Camaro owner today at the gas station he mentioned he is only getting 16-17 mpg with his 2012 RS auto, he asked what I got I said 22-25 average he freaked out!! Anyone else with an auto getting that bad of mileage?!

So Many things go into that number, its hard to a good number. If you are driving in an area with a lot of traffic lights, it averages the idle time in with final number. Aggressive starts and stops affect mileage as well as level ground vs hilly terrain. The best I have seen was 31.4 @ 50 mph with a reset next stop light it went to 21.3 MPG.

He claimed on an all highway trip at 75 he got 17. Their must be a problem with his car.

Even thou I've only owned my '12 2LT RS for about a month now... I have never had under 20 mpg's by the end of the tank. Now on fresh fill up & reset... pretty low if I run into someone wanting to play on the highway

So, I'm gonna call

on his 17 mpg highway journey. There is definitely something wrong if thats truly the case.

If he is doing the math, that may be a problem. Just the difference of a half gallon at fill up can make a big difference. I doubled checked the car computers mileage the first few tank and found it to be just about spot on. After that I have never doubled checked.

I never trusted the car's system tracking at 1st either, but have found per my prior pontiac's (G6 & GTO)... as well as a few tanks on the Camaro that they are pretty accurate.
