Front license plate bracket

Any HELP would be great. Trying to find a front license plate bracket/holder I seen in the past you mount it without putting holes in your front bumper (you had to bend the front plate) and it looks kind of cool capered to the other brackets out there.

Test Drive, I too have an LT and I have the JacFab front plate bracket, I LOVE IT. and if you would rather, they also have a FLAT (non-bent) bracket as well, I personally wanted a flat one, as I have vanity plates and did NOT want to bent my plate. Their bracket is VERY VERY sturdy.....I love it.

SLP also makes a bracket similar to the one above, but (correct me if I'm wrong) I believe it is better suited for cars with a front lip.

I have not seen an SLP bracket in person, but I believe it hasn't been on the market very long from my research... You have to drill 2 additional holes in the bottom of the front bumper to attach it per the instructions here: http://www.pfyc.com/supportfiles/ca1152_install.pdf. Most likely because it appears to be made of a thinner material and needs the extra bolts to support itself.

Our current brackets do work with SOME aftermarket front GFX, but not all... We are currently working on one to work with the GM GFX that may also end up working for more aftermarket setups, and also the ZL1.

Good to know! I don't currently have a front plate. Haven't ever put it one and I have never been stopped on about a year and a half. But good to know there are options should I ever need one!

I've got the bent one and I'm wild over it.
The plate isn't actually bent, it just sort of folds over.
Screw in one side and fold it over and srew in the other side.
From the front it doesnt even look bent.
10 minute operation.

Also for future reference, all of our brackets have "Ultra Soft Weather Resistant Closed Cell" foam on any surface that will come in contact with the paint to prevent vibration, and aid in protection to potential damage to the paint on the vehicle... I've yet to see this on any of the "bolt on" brackets offered out there.

This style of showing the license plate is a cooler way for me. But how does it work for those that have there license plate screwed into the bumper. What exactly would I have to do to situate this situation? (sorry if I have jack your thread TD)

Are there any coupons codes or free shipping options to seal the deal?

well for starters.....you need to remove the stock bracket. and believe it or not....its not screwed on, its RIVITED on. So you will need to drill out the center of the rivit and remove the bracket. At that point you will have 4 holes in the facia, and will need to decide on how you want to fix that. You can either take it to a body shop and have them filled in and the facia repainted...... Or you could get some color matching plugs.

YES it does.....it works like a champ. I have taken my car to the DIY quite a few times to knock off the "BIG DIRT" and bugs before driving home to hand wash my car.

I took my car through an auto wash ONE time, and the bracket seemed to be fine, however a big strip of the blue spinning washer thing got wedged in between the rear bumper cover and the quarter panel and created a gap there, even after I pulled it out... Must have stressed the plastic or something, so I will NEVER take the car through another autowash. But I made it through at least once with the bracket on; also have about 50 1/4 mile passes with it, and no problems.

There are currently no discount codes/coupons available, however we do occasionaly have a sale offering a discount, or free shipping, usually around major holidays.

Well worth the price though. Jason does a hell of a job with them. Super happy I bought one and now do not have to worry about any more $115 no front plate tickets.

You could also look at Eliminator Bracket if you are planning on ground effects. They are the only one that I know of that does not require to cut thru the GFX to get to the bolts on the underside of the car. It sandwiches a plate into the lower grill, and then using the stock license plate holder, attaches spring mounted lock clips to latch the plate to the grill. It can be removed for car shows if you like. I also like to remove it to get the bugs off when I wash the car.

It is pricy, but worth it IMHO as I have the GM GFX and no one else had a bracket that didn't need drilling or cutting. Take a look if you like. The directions were clear and the shipping was prompt. http://www.eliminatorbracket.com/

The general shipped cost I see mostly is around $89 and change give or take $3-4 dollars depending on location...

For comparison I checked shipped cost to me for 2 similar brackets from "the competitors"... Both of them cost more than our product, and with similar shipping costs. One was $115.99, and the other was $116.31 shipped to my door. ~$90 sounds much better, at least to me

Not trying to start a debate, but this is the first time I've actually ever researched the others, and not that I felt I was unreasonable before, after getting those numbers, I certainly don't feel bad.

Are you planning on designing one for the ZL1?

Yes, I just got the measurements needed to start a prototype from a new ZL1 owner in the mail yesterday. Hoping to get a mock up sent out soon.

Also have a gm factory gfx bracket in the works, hope to be able to try the first one on the local mule car next weekend!
