Need advice from you veterans!!,

I come to you boys (...and girls if any) with open arms hoping you will be able to guide me into the right direction. I own a 2010 manual SS with a 'no tune' vararam CAI, kooks LTH, Corsa catback and a custome dyno tune using HP tuners gear.

I want to do the following. What do you guys think?

- L92 heads
- LSXR 102 intake manifold
- 102mm big mouth throttle body

NO CAMS!!!

What kind of gains do you think I should be expecting?
I can't do cams cuz unfortunately where I come from, cams are not particularly very much welcomed.
Lastly, would I have to retune my car after adding the above mentioned?

Look forward to hearing from you people soon.

In my very humble opinion.....I think without a cam, your plans are a waste of time and money. All three of those modifications ultimately provide more airflow. Without a cam, the stock heads, intake manifold, and throttle body all flow plenty of air. You may see some minimal gains, but certainly not worth the investment if you're not going to install a cam which will actually USE that extra airflow.

the LS3 shares the same cylinder head castings and block casting as the L92 truck engine. The main difference in LS3 complete heads is that they have lighter valves and better valvesprings than standard L92 complete heads.

you'd be better off getting your stock heads ported. the LSXR intake and tb wont do much for a stock engine. We had a few members on here put them on stock engines and got around 3hp from the LSXR intake. its not meant for a stock engine, its meant for a fully built stroker or blower motor.

you could always go FI.

You listed $3,000 - $5,000USD in mods right there, which is some good room to play with.

How about you start by telling us your goals, and where this car will be driven.

I did the LSXR/NW mod in a cammed/new heads motor and probably added 10 to 15 rwhp (dyno showed more but we know how those things work from run-to-run with different weather conditions, etc). A bigger cam will likely add another 8 to 10 rwhp. But I intend to go for a stroked motor before long and that's when the LSXR/NW will shine. So no need to do this mod for hp's sake at this point.

Without a cam not worth it. Ls3 heads flow well first, and the additional airflow you did get I don't see really worth the cost.

Fast 102's....again no cam no point in my opinion. If you are wanting the additional airflow there you could always port your stock for around 300$.

Thanks for serving along our side
