The Drone and Fuel Economy Relationship

I've noticed that my MPG has increased significantly eversince I switched axles back systems to get rid of the drone. My theory on this is that previously I would keep the car out of the "drone range" of RPM's which meant that I was driving around in a lower gear at higher RPM's and almost never in 6th gear. I've picked up 5 MPG since switching to the Dynomax VT

You are probably right on your assessment. I know I had a little drone with my LT setup before I got it tuned. I would play with the RPM's to find the spot that didn't drone. Glad you like the VT's. Have loved mine since the day I got em. Headers with no cats is now whisper quiet at cruise but holy hell at WOT.

Yeah...honestly it was a little weird at first how quiet it was inside but now that's it's been a week or so and I've had the chance to drive it some more it was definitely the right decision. Can now hold a conversation inside, listen to the radio, use 6th gear, and it still sounds great when you crack open the throttle. I'm loving the fuel savings though...
