This is the crap I had to deal with when I pulled into the gas station

It was time to put gas into my 2010 V6, so yesterday I pulled into a local gas station. As I drove in I saw another Camaro owner pumping gas as well so I got excited, and so I pulled up on the opposite side of the gas pump.

I get out of my car, look over and say to the guy sarcastically "Yea, your car is alright." ... and then we both laughed because he saw my Camaro. He replies "Yea, yours isn't so bad either." Insert more laughing...and what I thought was Camaro owner "bonding".

Then I start to pump my gas, he's already pumping his gas. I ask, "What year is your Camaro?" He replies, "2011 SS".

He asks me "What's your's?" I say to him, "2010 RS".

He replies "RS? Is that a V6? Man, you better stay on that side of the gas pump." And no, he didn't say it sarcastically!

I thought to myself, what a fricken douchbag! First of all my V6 with MRT v2 exhaust sounds WAY better than yours "Mr V8 Guy who thinks he's the shiz stock V8"

So douchebag finishes pumping his gas before me and starts revving his engine. Sorry, but his V8 stock didn't sound like no V8. Plus his poor Camaro was dirty as hell!

Sorry just had to vent... Show me V6 love, who cares what's under the hood?

I loved my 1LT/ RS. See Sig still....but I wanted more. Now I have the SS and still want more, waiting on my front mount turbo kit. TBH I got more compliants from my black LT than with my SS at first

your always gonna get this. I hate to say it but when i see the v6 i think the same thing too , waste of time , but i gotta try and remember, its a new vehicle which costs more than mine , and not everyone wants to go fast as hell .

The v6 is no slouch just not a nice a the v8 but the mpgs are certainly better and if you drive it a lot its something to thing about .

And i know you have the v6 and like it or love it but the exhuast does not sound better than the v8 , sorry my opinion.

At least you have a car and are into the car thing so keep on modding and keep the hobby alive .

A V-8 is always going to get the nod from Car peeps, even thought some V-6's can outrun a few V-8's. It's your car don't waste time on knuckle heads that dis you.

What a dick......you should have wondered out loud to him what you were gonna do with the extra $25 buck you didn't have to spend at the pump filling up the V6!

Probably was a rental!!

Maybe your right, but my MRT's sounded much better than his V8 when he revved it.

You have a V6?!?! - You had better be posting in the V6 section only... Agree on the douchery. A Camaro is a Camaro. It is not JUST an engine. The SS owner that said that to you needs to get a clue.

Don't sweat it... I would never belittle someone for having the V6 Camaro or Mustang or Challenger.... I might think to myself,, "I'd of got the V8" but I have more tact than to make someone feel their car isn't nice based off what's under the hood.

Plus most of the cars look very similiar in V6 trim. Most people who aren't car enthusiast wouldn't even know the difference by the looks.

You should have kicked the shit out of him.

It would be neat to have a v6. I would mod the HELL out of engine ect but leave it a sleeper on the outside. Just to wash the douchebag grins off their vain faces.

should have said it was a 2010.

I don't understand why people point out its an RS. Not like it adds anything important performance wise.

And yes, mines an RS, but have never once described it as one, unless someone asks.

You describe it every that way ever single time you post. Look over to the left under your avatar pic.

My wife describes her Ford Flex as a Ford Flex limited. Why? I mean it doesn't have any more "performance" but it does have a boat load of options that an SE doesn't have. Nav, Moonroof, Glass roofs over the rear seats, Rear AC, DVD/TV entertainment in the rear, memory, heated, rear consolse fridge, electric seats and mirrors. Auto lift gate, etc etc... So yes saying you have an SS/RS does help inform someone better of what you actually have.. Precisely why you have it written in what you drive under your avatar pic.

I think is why it seems so many Camaro owners get asked the "is it a V8" question alot.

Of the 3 muscle/pony cars, the Camaro is the toughest to tell apart. The Mustangs have a 5.0 badge on the fender if its a V8, the V6s do not have a badge. Plus the V8s have the fog lights in the grille as well. The Challenger V8 models have either R/T or SRT grille badges on them, and the SRT even has a 392 Hemi badge on the fender, while the V6s have no badge. The V8 models also have badges on the hood cowl, while the V6s dont. The RS badge on the Camaros is almost impossible to tell apart from the SS badge unless you're very close to it, and both badges have identical red coloring and they are in the same place on the car.

My wife even initially thought the RS badge meant it was a V8 because she had a 3rd Gen (45th Anniversary Edition) RS Camaro that had a 305 V8 and it had RS badging on it.

Inevitably will always be v8 or v6 and stick or auto. Dont sweat it. People bust my balls cause it is not stick. Just let it go in one ear and out the other.

Not for anything but who the hell answers RS when asked what Camaro you have. RS in not a model of Camaro, it's a appearance package that both the V6 and SS can have. Had you said RS to me I would have been laughing under my breath.

And if you're so proud of your V6, why did you not say it was a 6, instead of throw out a meaningless package? All that did was show your V6 insecurity and probably got the guy going. Although if he were half a Camaro owner he would have just laughed.

Also if you think your MRT's sounds better then the V8 rumble, then you my friend and in the minority and in denial.

I'm starting to wonder if some of these stories are being made up. I mean in all my years with performance cars, and on all the forums I've been on, I have NEVER heard even one of these stories. I get on this site and I've seen more of these stories than any other story. I've seen people with all types of performance cars, I've been to car meets, I've cruised the strips...and I have yet to hear or see this type of behavior.

But let me add another 2 cents...there is always a better car. V6 to V8 auto to V8 stick to 1SS to 2SS to 2SS/RS to ZL1 to blah blah blah. If someone is gonna be a jerk, then call him out right then and there. You could have said "Dude, there's no reason to be an a-hole". Or you could have said "Dude, at least my car ain't as filthy as yours".

But I think that some of you V6 owners have a complex or some subconscious envy towards the SS owners. There is nothing wrong with having a V6. I was gonna get one but I chose not to because I got my 2010 2SS/RS with 10,700 miles for such a great deal...I actually would have paid more for a V6. Everyone has a reason for the car they buy and you don't need to validate yourself...unless you feel bad about your purchase. Some moron decides to call you out because you have a V6...call him out right to his face.

I'm not sure why my post was deleted. I'm a V6 owner with MRT's and I was just pointing out facts.
