Another XM thread

A couple of weeks ago, I got a call from XM to renew. They wanted almost $200, and I refused. They immediately came down to $99 for a year. OK, I accepted, and told them to send me a bill, since I was not going to give them access to my checking account or credit card. I got the bill 2 days ago, and today found that my radio had been shut off. Couldn't have paid the bill that fast if I flew there myself!. Today I get another bill, saying I have a $90 credit, and owe $9., due 3 days ago. I called, and the computer says my payment is not due till June 15. Enough is enough, so I called, and after a 10 minute hold, was told they would transfer me to cancellation. I said I would not stay on hold that long again. She said no more than 1 minute wait. 5 minutes later, I hung up. Life is too short do deal with these clowns. I see why Honda doesn't offer them

I also hate them but I did renew after I got a great 6 month price, also there customer service SUCKS and the hold time sucks also. I had them send me a bill also so they won't have my credit card to auto renew so when my 6 months is up they will call me and then I won't have to deal with there long hold time.

When my Sirius was up for renewal last month I figured "they have an expired credit card" so no need to contact them. Apparently they can charge an expired card. Who knew. I am anxiously awaiting the next renewal so I can call and tell them to go $%^$% themselves,

Funny you say that I had that happen also with a expired card who would think the credit card company would allow it.

There are better options for music now. I'd like to see GM take OnStar and XM out of their vehicles, or at least out of the base vehicles. I hate paying for things I don't want/need. I'd rather have usable things like fog lights, a better sounding stereo, or a trunk mat.

XM customer service Sucks. Had the same problems. After weeks of back and forth, I got my price and paid the whole year.

With Pandora and the ability to attach an MP3 player, there's really no need for XM or Sirius. Not for the prices they charge, anyway. If it was 30 bucks a year or so I'd probably do it.

nester here's the problem for the most part texas tends to be flat - if you come next door to arkansas we have more hills than not and once you get 30 min's out of little rock you can't get a decent signal on a non country station and 3g sucks once you get out of central ark, so far i have had a lot better luck with xm.

but 100% right with the mp3 player provided i could get one to work with my stereo but that's an entirely different thread.

If they ever call you should put them on hold and see how they like it, let them get a taste of their own medicine.

I would, but the incoming call still goes against my minutes with Verizon!

Just a thought...smart not to give them a credit card number...if at all possible, don't use or give them your personal cell or phone# (Use a work phone, e-mail or whatever). Once your subscription ends, the phone calls will be relentless to get you to nenew...I've never seen anything like it. The number of times they call and won't take no for an answer is off the charts, and I don't know how they get away with it....I will never have XM again.

My cell is registered on the do not call list. Dosen't really help much, but a threat to file a fed complaint sometimes helps a little

I tried that didn't help. I'd say WTF, and they'd say oh, that wasn't this office, or "I'm a different techician" or some bs. This is the truth, I actually cancelled my home phone land line (and now just use a cell) because XM would never stop calling.

(Sorry if it was me that screwed up the quote thing)...lol

Every time i've done it I make them give me the $20 for 5 month deal or I cancel....now sometimes it take a few calls to find an agent who will give me the 5 for $20 deal, but I eventually get it.

Funny, I have both XM and Sirrus accounts.........never had a problem with them. Still paying about $43 quarterly. Service has always been good. I suspend the Camaro's XM over the winter months...they always get the credit right.

I was getting 4 calls a day when my xm expired, after 2 or 3 days of that I gave them an ear full and it dropped to 1 call a day.... They don't know when to give up. The problem is I do like xm but hate how expensive it can be. When the price was right I did jump on it
