News on 2013 Factory Navigation Retrofit?

Is there any recent news on if this will work or not? Part #s, cost, etc?
Oh, and is it a true Navigation system that is self contained or does it require OnStar for Nav?

Thanks a bunch!

It's a work in progress. We have the part numbers but the parts aren't available yet plus the pricing hasn't been released yet. I don't expect a full DIY until late this summer, that is if it's even possible.

If it's something you are serious about then use this time to save up. I estimate it will run about $3k for everything based on cost of doing this on other GM vehicles.

I too would like the updated touchscreen HU from the 2013 however for $3k you could redo your entire audio system!

it will be expensive and we do have the mastermind at work for all of us here, but there is nothing like keeping certain aspects our cars retaining the factory look.

I talked to my GM rep today and he said the 2013 NAV will not work on the 2010-2011 camaros. The UAQ code(I think that is it) is not programmed into our computers nor is the computer able to accept the programming. He was waiting to hear from his factory rep and was told that we cannot go backwards from 2013 on the factory electronics....bummer.

I believe WE should all wait to see what 2SSRS (Ofer) finds out. As I remember, alot of people said that the HUD could not be installed in the 2010's and yet I know of at least 48 Camaro owners who have done this Mod with outstanding results. Remember these people want you to trade in your car for a newer model, so of course they are going to say it can not be done.

Are you talking about the same people that said the ZL1 rims won't fit on other models even though there are many people on here that have them?

Sorry but I don't trust what they say when it comes to compatibility.

Well I hope they are wrong too but this is the same parts guy I have been dealing withfor 20 yrs and he does gis research b4 he acts. He was told by his factory rep that there have been a ton of enquiries about this and it wont work due to the different computers and programs being incompattable. But I too hope they are all wrong.

If I understood correctly....the new computer and electronics(maybe not all electronics, but the NAV for sure) can only be substituted in other vehicles going forward from 2013.....so if thats right, than no go for 2012.

I was told at the Michigan Fbody meet and greet this weekend in Milford, by the guy (he arrived along with Fbodfather, and Al Oppenheiser), driving an Inferno Orange ZL1, that it can be done, but it will be real hard to do.

By that I asked him what he meant, does that mean you'll have to pull the whole dash apart? He said yes, but it could be done.

I also spoke with him on about the ZL1 for a moment, since it had black panels and ambient light. He said it was dimmer than the other models because of that. I mentioned I put the ambient light in the dash. He said, oh yeah we were going to do that, but right before it launched we had a supplier issue with it.

So take from that what you will, as this information came from someone driving a CTF ZL1 convertable.
