Sell your car, and go buy an SS.

8047, you may want to have a look at the forced induction section of this forum. Supercharging is an option, although I don't know about the possibility with the new engine model in the '12. Twin turbos have been adopted for a couple of earlier cars as well.

The LFX will take well to tuning.....with the new ECM. There are guys on here who have dipped into the mid 13's with nothing more than a tune and a few minor mods. (CAI....) Trifecta has a 2012 tune. $400

This is a great platform for mods. I have seen SS's post sub 13 times, but not many. Like any powerful car, they require a skilled driver to maximize performance. Many guys can't really drive, and post V6 times with their SS's all day long. On the street, you can mod that V6 to be more than respectable. Just use the search function......and some common sense.

Congrats on the new Camaro.

You can SC or Turbo the LFX engine, but if you want a real SS killer you will want the twin turbo setup from RX performance. Not that you can't kill an SS with the RX, or IPF supercharger, but you can expect even more performance from the twin turbo.

That said, it ain't cheap, and by the time you add all the suspension mods and tires that should go hand in hand with a setup like that, you will be looking at around 8 to 10 grand easy.

PS - Not trying to troll, just trying to help you so you'll get better responses too -- LT1 is an engine that was in the '90s Camaros and Corvettes. 1LT is the trim/model that comes on the 2010+ Camaro. Same with LS1 (engine) and 1LS (trim/model)

I actually thought about getting a V6 when I started looking. I didn't because I drove the car and it felt slower than my modded 03 Mustang GT. And my Mustang is a low 14 sec car...and I'm bored with that level of performance. Now I'm not insulting the V6 crowd but if I'm gonna make payments on a car, then it better be faster than the car I already have free and clear. And it's a good thing I got the SS because I'm bored with the power already.

Anyway, you cannot scoff at the level of performance the V6 cars are capable of. Anyone who does is either a newbie or just plain ridiculous. I think STS was making over 400 hp to the wheels with their turbo kit. Blower kits are right behind them. And there are people doing lots of upgrades and making impressive power. I've seen videos of what these cars are doing and I'm straight up impressed.

So I'd say look into forced induction. Most companies offer warranties...so when you void the factory warranty with a blower you'll have a warranty from the supercharger manufacturer. If I had a V6 that is what I would do. Heck that was my initial plan...

Congrats on the new Camaro.
My 2012 V6 with a 100 shot and waiting on my Trifecta Tune. Using in only top of 2nd 3rd 4th gears. 13.50@105 with some nitrous tuning, tire and a tune we should be high 12s. Plus I still get 29 MPG
