So now the belt is just slipping because there is NO tension on the super charger belt.

It's always something with my car! UGH.

Anyone with the Rx System know the bolt size that goes from the tensioner to the super charger unit??

*EDIT*

Tracy just PM'ed me that it is SAE 3/8" coarse thread. But if anyone knows the length that would be great. I think it is around 2" or so.
Sorry to hear about the bolt. Things will get sorted out and stabilized - they always do.

Even worse news. The bolt didn't just back out, it stripped clean off inside the vortech head unit. Basically the super charger has to come off to be able to fix this. Good Lord I'm having terrible luck!

That sux. Glad you didn't get stranded out in the middle of now where...too hot to be walking home.

This stuff does seem to come in waves, but you gotta hang in there.

just dropped my car off. we will see what happens.. hopefully everything gets figured out.

I will say that I love the Rx design a lot. if it wasn't designed this way, my car wouldnt be drivable at all. however I just took off the super charger belt and put a cone filter on the end of the main maf tube and drove it as a NA car. my afr was perfectly fine, granted I didn't go above 4 k rams lol. kudos go to Tracy designing it this way. now if I could only get this bad luck streak out of my life.....

Shop called me back today apparently the bolt used to hold the tensioner (the only bolt) was a grade A bolt and fairly weak to begin with. They're going to find a grade 8 or grade 12 bolt that is easily 2-4 times as strong.

Owen @ ARD was able to remove the bolt fragment using a magnetic pick. He said it was clearly a stress fracture that cut this bolt in half. The good news is he didn't have to spend hours trying to remove the blower and other parts, probably took like 15-20 mins with that pick, lol.

Should have the car Saturday morning.

well I just got my car back. it looks and feels the best it's been since it has been super charged. The bolt was of sub par quality they said. I was going to take the bolt fragment to the lab at our office and do a metallurgical test on the bolt to see what exactly the deal is. However they can't find it at the moment.

Owen the shop owner that just fixed the tensioner said he's worried about the design of the tensioner. There are only two bolts holding the tensioner in place and one of those is only for stability. So that means that most of the force on the tensioner is being put on a single bolt. So we will see what happens overt time.

Baylor -

Any updates on your car since your last post?

Has there been a consensus on what was causing your MAFs to fail (guessing condensation from the SuperChiller?)

As for your OD pully on the stock HPFP , were you able to sort out the issues enough to either 1) keep the OD pully on or 2) solve the fuel delivery problem?

Thanks!
