Would you do it?

Fully loaded 12 Challenger 392, $51,500.00 msrp, being offered at $45,000.00 brand new. Been going back and forth on this decision for weeks, can't make up my mind.

I love the SS but the Challenger is awfully nice as well, and it will fit my entire family in it.

Should I seek mental health treatments for considering this?

Sounds like a deal, the 392 is no joke. If you're gonna have the heft, might as well have the size too.

Not sure why you even bought the Camaro if fitting the entire family in it was a requirement.

I didn't realize the Challengers had usable back seats.

This is a no brainer!! Trade it.

I think the challenger has styling that looks better than the camaro and the mustang.

For instance, Love the head lights of the stang and maro but hate the tails on both... The 392 has a sick set of headlamps and the tails looks equally good.

Just wish for the money they ran a little faster. We all know the hemi is capable, but SRT has been dragging ass lately.

Um, a lot of SRT8 autos have hit 12.2 stock, which is quicker than a lot of ZL1s (so far) and runs 10k cheaper for starters. Sounds like a great performer for the price to me. of course they are supposed to be working on a nice 6.2 SCed Hemi, probably to appear in the Cuda.

After testing the auto 392, I will say that it would give my cammed SS a run for the money. The car launches beautiful with just a hair of spin. I just don't know what is available for bolt-ons that actually produce hp after that though. Without the ability to tune, CAIs and headers may not add that much.

NO, at least not until they figure out how to tune them. You should follow SRT8Tech's lead and get into a GT500.

How about getting a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 or used Trailblazer SS?

This has been what is holding me back to this point. Originally they wouldn't consider my Camaro because it was modified and loss the warranty. Then a week later they called and offered 25k which I refused, yesterday it was a new offer of 26.5k, I responded with I have to get atleast 27k (which is fair considering its a 2010 with no warranty), still waiting on their final offer.

Who knows it may happen today? I will say it has been a very long drawn out process for several weeks. Considering the initial offer was no trade and 49k for the car, to where we are now, it's been worth the wait to ice them a few weeks.

Um, there have been FAR more than 2..... And hey if ONE 12.5 on an SS makes it mid 12 car, then even if there were only 2, why not?

If your wife has a vehicle that comfortably accommodates the entire family, why is it an issue with what you drive?

When the whole famdamily is going somewhere, we take the wife's MKT. Otherwise, I'm in the Shelby giving up nothing. Wife doesn't care one way or the other.

I've got a friend with an SRT8. Beautiful car, but it does drive like a battleship. When the tires are smoking and the car starts to drift, I feel like I'm playing a video game because feedback through the wheel and the seat is nil, it's like driving my boat a bit.

I'm not knocking it, it is what it is, a very nice riding old-schoolish muscle car. But if you like good steering, just stick with your SS.
