![]() After driving with these bushings for a few days now all I can say is "Holy Fukkin $hit!!" These things make a world a difference! Firms up the slop like a MGW shifter but it slides into gear so smoothly and easily ![]() Also ran into my buddy last night H-TownSS who also bought the bushings and he was just as impressed as me ![]() Thanks again NH-SS for making these! If you guys are thinking about getting these you need to get off your a$$ and get them ordered! You will not be dissapointed at all!!

All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE! The shifter has absolutely no play. The best part is how you can actually feel the transmission click into gear through the shifter. Reverse used to be a little hard to shift into sometimes, but now it clicks right in every time.
It took longer to get the rubber boot back on than to install the bushing. I took the boot off and the pin out then burnished the bushings before I put them in. I was able to start the bushings using a little grease in the hole. Then I used a nut, bolt and two washers to draw the bushings together and into the hole. I put plastic with adhesive on one side on the face of the washers to protect the bushing faces. Also put the bolt through a piece of clear plastic tubing to protect the inside of the bushing from the bolt threads. Pin went in halfway easily with a few very light taps using a small wrench to get it the rest of the way. Normal use will complete the burnishing. Took about 40 minutes. Thanks NH-SS.

I had similar problems with mine and my brothers Camaro also. A few guys in the club recommended me to switch to MGW shifter and all i can say is that I would never try another shifter other this MGW. If you ever decide to try you it you will see what I mean. Your post was great and appreciate all the details during the install. - glad your shifter is working better.

My set just showed up. All I can say is WOW. Professionally packaged, perfectly machined, and better quality than I could have hoped for. I'll put these in tomorrow morning when it's not 109° outside.
Thank you NH-SS!

My bushing kit came in the mail yesterday and I was completely happy about it. Such nice looking new bushings and a well written set of instructions too. It was all so carefully packaged, NH-SS is the man.
Something semi-weird has happened though. I bought a new shifter pin and clips from my local dealer and brought them home today. I looked at the pin and bushings at my desk and discovered that the new shifter pin I bought is much smaller than the hole through the center of the bushing, it totally rattles around inside the bushing. I think they must have sold me a smaller than normal shifter pin or something. I saw the parts diagram on the parts guy's computer, it looked like the right part to me. I guess I will have to pull the used pin from my car tomorrow and see if it fits the new bushings. The pin is supposed to be a tight fit inside the bushings, correct? After viewing the photos in this thread I am under the impression that the pin just barely fits through the hole in the center of the bushings and the burnishing process is to make the pin fit correctly and move smoothly. I guess I will find out for sure once i remove the existing pin from my shifter and compare it to the new pin I picked up at the dealership today. |
