Sounds like water got into the ignition system some how.

Let everything dry out overnight and fire it up tomorrow and see if it runs correctly or not. Id also look over the ignition system to see if you can see evidence of arcing such as on the plug wires, coil, etc.

I'd take to dealer or tow it to keep from causing damage. It could just be water in some of the electronics though.

So the car suddenly starts running really bad and a lot louder. You call on star for diagnostics and they tell you to stop driving and they will get you a free tow to a dealer. You drive it home instead. You come here looking for help in self diagnosing. I guess I'm confused why you will not just get it fixed under warranty almost like someone would do with a mass produced automobile. Seriously, rather than risk possible damage, let them come get it and fix it.

Fetzer valve, most likely. Could be the bypass line. You'll need 7 gallons of anti-freeze and some 30-weight ball bearings.

You just quoted one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies!

In all seriousness, I hope you get it figures out but it does seem odd.

Should have listened to On Star. Like others have asked, do you have a CAI or other mods and did you hit any big puddles just before it started acting up?

I agree, what is with all the lectures. Parking, driving, wrecking, fixing. Lectures. Get over yourselves.

Sorry, I thought diagnosis and repair was the point of a warranty.

I had a dodge ram do the same thing. Except water splashed into ecu, shorted it out and caused #3 coil pack to melt. Was actually kinda neat to watch he replacement melt in front of me, except the $ out of my pocket.
Glad they fixing yours and it's not a big deal like mine was.

Better make that Quaker State. It's all ball bearings now a days.
