Fiance's new car

My girl just picked up a new (2012) Chevy Sonic LT hatchback. She got the 1.4l with the 6speed manual. I have to admit its a nice little car for under 19k. Peppy when the turbo comes on and loaded with options. She got the Crystal Red Tint color, which is pretty close to the Red Jewel Tint of my Camaro. We've been joking about having someone custom cut hockey and hood stripes and a black body kit to match the ones I just had put on my Camaro.

Picture of hers and of mine.

I just got one today too. The cheapest Hatchback, with tax 16.2K. I test drove it before buying it and the little sucker really flies.
My dealer is selling them for a Grand under MSRP through the 31st.

She's really happy with it. Kind of surprised though. I was afraid she was going to want her own Camaro, which she did, and still does, but reality kicked in and she knows she could never have gotten one. I think it would be funny to add a flat black body kit and hockey stripes to match the Camaro.

Congrats on the Sonic purchase.
Bought one for our daughter (she's 15 and just got her temps) and so far we really like the thing.
It is a 2LT hatch (auto/non turbo).
Very nice car for the money.

Your bride to be made a good choice. The Sonic has room for child seats, Camaro not so much.

Yup, that was the Victory Red one. They're still using that color. The Crystal Red replaced my Red Jewel.

Can't remember the city, something in the high 20's. The highway is rated at 40. Dealer said one of there past customers claimed to be get 48 on a straight highway trip. We're driving it from San Diego to New Mexico on Friday, so I'll let you know what we get.

Makes a great car to offset the expense of the SS. Gets the same gas mileage as my motorcycle, but more comfortable for long distances and more cargo space. lol

Ok, I figured out something I don't like about her car. It was what is called "Hill Start Assist." it basically holds the brakes on for about a second after you release them so you don't roll backwards. My issue with this is that I actually no how to drive a stick. All it does to me is cause me to stall the engine, because I'm releasing the clutch before the brakes release. I did it 5 times today. Once at a red light and to a$$ hat 2 cars back decided to pound on his gas and drive the car behind us into the back of us. Then they both took of without stopping. Luckily there was no damage, not even a scratch. Had me pretty irate for a good while after. Had it been the Camaro, I would have chased them down and snapped out, mostly for not stopping.
