Pfadt offers a rebuild kit. I had two sets of these and the second set made a noise on the drivers side as well but got quieter as breakin went on. The other member on here that has them now hasn't complain to me since. Also even the stock ferule sleeve isn't exactly the same diameter as the stock bolt. I mentioned to Pfadt about putting a liner inside the hole before putting the bolt on to tighten up that slot.

My installer has already talked directly with the Pfadt engineer that designed these. He stated it could take up to 2,000 miles to "break-in." I discussed my options at length with them. I won't see 2K miles until next year.

As for the ferule sleeve you mention, according to the engineer that makes no difference once you have the bearing tightened up. It doesn't move even though the hole is larger than the bolt. I actually have the engineering drawing for the that part of the bearing. The hole difference is only .011" larger for a 14MM bolt. I thought originally that was the issue until I used the pipe wrench to move the control arms and the noise was there.

Bottom line the noise comes from the spherical being tight in the race sleeve. It needs a run in period to loosen up. I just wasn't willing to wait that long. When the noise is loud enough to hear while you're driving by, it's not right. The design leaves something to be desired.
