Normal Engine Noise?

Guys- I apologize if this is stupid but this is my first SS and I haven't had this before.

Is it normal for the engine to produce a ticking noise where the valves are? The right driver side seems louder with a more like a squishy sound. It's hard to explain. It isn't load but it's noticeable enough to be a concern.

Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. My ss has been making this noise too. You can hear it on the passenger side but is more noticeable on the driver side. I think it's just the lifters and valve noise but to me it seems like the driver side is more open so it just seems louder. Just my two sence.

I would take it to a dealer to check it out. That is valve train noise for sure, if you notice its only one valve tapping. You can take a long screwdriver and hold it on the cover with your ear against it to locate the exact area, it will be much louder when you find the on thats the problem. At any rate it needs to be looked at because running the engine with an improper valve lash can lead to much worse and more expensive repairs.

That is likely injector noise and is " normal".
