Gm performance lsa supercharger

I just bought a new 2ss camaro and ordered the gm performance supercharger for the dealer to install. They just called me and said the kit isn't ready for sale yet because they are waiting for a contract for one of the components. Jegs and summit are both listing this kit for sale but keep moving back their shipping date. Does anybody know whats going on with these kits and how long before they are being shipped? Dealer says they can't get an answer.

Do a Maggie or one of the other better options IMO.

$9008 installed with zl1 fuel pump. I chose that one because it comes with the 5 yr 100,000 mile warrantee. Dealer said any other model would void my car warrantee.

Nope. The LSA S/C is a 1.9L not the 2.3L like the maggie or Eforce. Smaller blower, smaller intercooler. Atleast buy the eforce and their warranty, or the maggie with their warranty.

The LSA, and the LS9 are Eaton superchargers. The LSA is the 1.9 (1900), and the LS9 is the 2.3 (2300). The basic superchargers are all made by Eaton, and sold/licensed by GM, and Magnuson. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct statement from VADER above. ZL1 has electric steering so you must add a steering pump to the SS, different AC compressor and brackets and cooling lines, different alternator, plus other hoses, intercooler, pump, belts, and tuning, etc.

I have have had my ZL1 blower on my car since Feb. Ordered by and installed by and tuned by ADM Perf in Lewisville. He had the clear vision to order parts last year as he saw the upcoming interest in a GM factory blower. BTW, it uses only one 8 rib belt to drive the blower. 6 rib belt drives water pump, alternator, and pwr steering pump. And a third small belt to drive AC compressor. If you break a blower belt you can still drive the car home; good GM factory engineering. I had been waiting for a blower that was unique and different from all the others and this was perfect for me. Quiet, dependable, with great performance. Puts out safe low boost on pump gas and no worries about belt slippage.

I bet it doesnt. Just uses a different belt than the factory lsa I would guess which would have been the smart thing to do.

lol @ paying 9k for a small supercharger and fuel pump.

Like everyone stated buy an aftermarket supercharger. Maggie, vortech, eforce, ecs, whipple... they are all better and cheaper than that little 1.9.

I wouldn't waste my money on it. If your want positive displacement get a whipple and if your want a centri get a procharger or ecs.

I understand bigger might be better in most cases but I am still concerned about factory warranty and am willing to settle for a little less. This isn't my race car, I'm just looking for a little boost for the stock motor.

Have you priced a Maggie,Whipple lately....Prices went through the roof recently.

Alot more parts on this table than a fuel pump and supercharger

Better double check the Warranty, Chevrolet Performance parts only have a 12 month/ 12K warranty. And it may adversely affect the rest of the powertrain.. Just be sure of what you are getting and get it in writing.

Another difference is the ZL1 crankshaft pulley that drives THREE belts, not two. So, a longer belt is absurd plus SS is 6 rib and LSA blower is 8 rib. Read my #12 post above again. The entire engine accessory belt drive is different than the SS. The only two accessory components on the SS that you can reuse are the alternator and water pump. The only belt you can reuse is the AC compressor drive. Not even the SS power steering pump can be reused nor the AC compressor. Lastly the 1.9L LSA blower is more efficient than most others out there including the Eaton 2.3. Takes less power to drive as well. I hope OP gets what he paid for and he is correct, his dealer is going to be pissed and really surprised what is needed. BTW, did I even mention injectors? BTW did I mention tensioners for the two belts? Lastly, there is no such thing as a KIT. One must know what is needed and what to order. This is much of the due dilligence ADM Perf did for me and others with the LSA blowers on their SS Camaros. Just like converting a L-99 engine to LS-3 engine, there is no KIT, you need to know what is needed and what to order. Good Luck OP, if you get it to happen you will really love your car!! I have had my car 3 years now and know about every blower or turbo setup for Camaros available. Most are excellent. But the LSA factory setup and engineering really appealed to me. I am glad I waited and passed on all the others.
