2000 LS engine into 72 Camaro, clutch troubles
after swapping a 2000 Camaro LS v8 into a 1972 Camaro (a COMPLETE rebuild car) We got it all running and operative, except.. when I try to engage the clutch it will not let me put it into gear (6 speed Manual) with the engine turned off it will go into all gears, but will not disengage.
I went to the local pick-a-part and took the entire firewall section, master cyl, clutch master, reservior and pedal system (cut it out) from a 2000 Firebird with a manual trans. removed the same section in the 72 and then welded the firewall section into the 72. connected everything and tried the clutch, did not work, so I used a hole saw and cut a 1 1/2" hole into the floor at the bellhousing bleeder, THOROUGHLY bled the clutch system, and when pushing the clutch pedal down I can see the release bearing move forward about 3/4 of an inch, Clutch still will not disengage. So I am looking for ideas here. Anyone?

Try Ls1Tech.com......they're much more technical over there.
Post some pictures...you'll get a better response. You cut the firewall section out and welded it into the 72? What does that look like? |
