2010 Camaro V6 Vs. 2009 Doge Ram 1500

Ok, so my cousin has a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500, with a V8 5.7L Hemi engine, and 3.91 gears. He say's he would take me in a drag race or we might be even. His car is totally stock. He does have a Superchip and would be putting it on the 91 octane tune before he raced me. My camaro is a 2010 V6. I have all my mods listed at the bottom. So who do you guys think would win in a race? I think I would take him but he does not think so. Just curious on what you guys think.

Actually, if its a shortbed regular cab with the big engine and the 3.91 it will actuall be pretty quick to 60. The brand new R/T Rams will do it in less than 6 seconds.

THAT SAID...

With your mods you should win (even without the mods I don't think you'd be at a disadvantage), and the higher the MPH you go the farther you should pull on him. If you really want to have fun though, convince him to do a 20 - 80 roll or something like that.

...oh..and when your done "racing on the track" let us know how it goes

He does have the 5.5 foot bed. But I think I would smoke him. The only way to find out is to actually race. On a closed track of course.

Ram 1500 crew cab 5.7L hemi 0-60 mph is rated at 6.6 seconds on the Internet. Add the 3.92 gearing and maybe he gains two tenths of a second at most to his time. Isn't the camaro V6 rated stock trim at 5.9/6.0 seconds flat 0-60 mph. I don't know, we need to just race and see who the real winner is.

The R/T ram 1500 is Rated at 5.7 seconds to 60 mph. I think I would have a good race with that ram. Might get taken by the R/T ram though.

The Ram RC SB R/T does 0-60 in 5.7 but traps 94-95 mph lol.... Anyway you put it you will beat him on the top end. That's the same trap as Scion FR-S for comparison....

You guys don't give the V6 any credit...especially this modded V6 which is certainly capable of low to mid 5 seconds to 60 for sure and also for sure capable of 13s in the quarter mile.

No way this Ram is walking this particular V6.

Crew cab? Well then I say you got him for sure. If you take off from a drag it might be close for the first few seconds but after that you'll be pulling away.

yea i know some not all SS guys think the v6 is a dog even with mods. The OP's car with his mods should be at about 290 rwhp mayb higher the only thing he doesnt have that is bolt on is E85 tune. The OP can get mid 13's driven well with a trap of around 104 mph i dont see a stock dodge truck doing anywhere close to that besides a SRT-10

OP should win. My R/T ran a best of 14.3 with full tank and weight with a horrible 60 ft time. I've only been to the track twice so I'm far from the best, Best time for a stock R/T is 13.7. Make a vid OP!
