Solo High Flow or Cat Delete?

I was looking at doing Solo High Flow Casts. Im in a state where I can legally do a Cat Delete. I was talking to a friend who asked why I would pay for high flow cats when I can just do a Cat Delete?

Is he right? Should I just do a Cat Delete. Will my sound improve even though I still have stock mufflers?

i would go high flow cats. just to stop the smell, cuz i am guessing you wont be tuning either. you should delete the mufflers anyways btw.

If you do a cat delete without a tune you'll have a cel all the time. Like Mike said the smell can get to some people too. The Solo high flow cats are nice because you will rarely ever get a cel and they flow excellent. I'd get a catback or something to get rid of the stock mufflers first.

If you dont mind burnt toast smell and a CEL go with the delete.
The Solos I got fro Juiced got here in 2 days and along with my catback really woke up the engine.
Good tone but not obnoxious.

You're in my neck of the woods.

I just installed the Solo HF cat midpipes this past weekend. They sound pretty good, and at first I wasn't sure if I was going to finish my muffler delete project. The tone of the exhaust did change very noticeably. It doesn't get a whole lot louder though. I've since decided that the muffler delete + magnaflow x-pipe is still gonna happen. I want it somewhere between where it is now and obnoxious.

Make sure they send you steel O2 extenders if you go with Solo. One of my aluminum ones ended up stripped out, and I think the other is leaking a little (probably also stripped out). I ordered new steel extenders from Ebay so I can just weld them in place. I also ended up replacing the bolt hardware on mine after installing/uninstalling the pipes a few times trying to get a good seal. I also ended up cutting my own gaskets

Surprisingly, I have no CEL at the moment. It should be here any day though I just have the driver's side O2 sensor screwed directly into the pipe behind the cat until I can finish it right.

It all sounds like a PITA, but in reality, once you put the pipes on once and figure out the best way to get at everything, it doesn't take long to pull the midpipes and re-install them. I'm down to about an hour!

Here's a DIY for installing Solo's if you're interested.

If I could do it over I would do solo cats first, if it wasn't loud enough then I would do an axle back. I have had my solos for over 5 months and I love them.
