Ive actually seen that before..I was watching a show on discovery channel about the guys that race across the ice and snow. When they have to change a tire that was the same thing they did to get back into the race really fast. Im not sure how well that will work on a regular tire though.

well I know it has to do with gas expansion, but I'm not sure how exactly it would work.

basically the flame creates a vacuum. think of an atomic bomb, remember how it blows out then gets sucked inward and upward? same concept here only on a much smaller scale.

I always use starting fluid, you get more bang for the buck.

i saw that a long time ago...

and if you look towards the end, it looks like it deflated enough for the bead to come unseated again

the vid should be titled, how to reseat the bead on a tire with wd-40

the explosion forces the tire back on the bead, once the fire goes out it begins to contract, basically need to start filling the tire as soon as it seats onto the bead

I cant see the vid... Is it actually inflating the tire or are they just seating the bead?

It just mounts the tire. You still have to inflate it. At least, that's what I think.

My buddy tried that on his almost monster truck and it shot the tire about 20ft away. Scared the shit out of him.

I tried this the other day with my lawn mower tire but it didnt work :( I was doing it exactly the same but with engine starting fluid. Luckily I did get it on though afterward, but without all the cool fire.

tire was probably too small (ie: not enough air inside the tire for the expansion)
