Exactly. This is not a race for us, our customers know that we will have the best ZL1 intake available. Those high expectations means we want to give you a product we can stand behind 100%, and are not concerned with being the 1st across the finish line. Our development process typically takes longer than others due to the simple fact that everything we do is custom. We don't use standard couplers and elbows, we have them made to exact specs which requires tooling and molds to be made, then get a prototype, then test it, then tweak it and start over again. Same with our filters and intake tubes....long story short it takes time.

This thread is not the only interaction we have with customers interested in the ZL1 intake system. Many people we have been talking to are aware that we have pressed the pause button on the ZL1 development for the last month so that we could wrap up other projects. This is an update to let them know that things are again in motion and moving forward. Some people appreciate more information than others, so we are trying to keep people as informed as possible as to the progress.

Yeah, I was being an asshole. I apologize. I would love to have one of these as soon as they are available if they don't require a tune. Again, I apologize, I was being an ass.

No problem Jimmy5 thanks, hopefully we can get it all finished up soon, and yes the goal is to definitely have it perform without needing a tune.

Ok, new update for those of you who have been asking.

We finished up more devlopment end of last week and are now waiting on some prototype items to test fit and Dyno. We should have them in 2 weeks or so. Judging from what we seen with our makeshift pieces that we were using, our CAI will make good power, throw no CEL, and require no tune, which is obviously the goal.

Also, after contacting and speaking with dozens of ZL1 owners who signed up on our website for more info on this application, as well as members on this forum, we have decided we will be offering a pre-order option. This way there is no chance of underplanning production, and forcing customers to wait even longer due to a backorder once they are brought to market. Details on the pre-order will be available in a few weeks, dependent on the testing results. As of right now, I can tell you there will be a nominal non-refundable deposit, which will gurantee your place in line. Like I said, once I have product details, pricing, and lead times I will offer up the pre-order option, so stay tuned!

I hate to seem rude, or press this issue any further but what where your performance numbers on your prototype? I have seen results from other vendors on this forum and I am waiting for yours to make my decision on which one to purchase for my build.

I await your reply with great eagerness.

Regards

Charlie

Charlie, no problem at all, we appreciate your eagerness and interest in our product. Our goal here is to release a system that will make good power, require no tune, and throw no codes. It's not just about a single hp number on the Dyno for us. That being said, we will be dyno testing the new prototype as soon as the materials we are waiting on arrive, I hope to be able to publish some numbers then. I can not release any specifics until we actually have the numbers that we will be bringing to market. All I can ask is that you guys hang in there a little longer for us, we plan on having something that you will be proud of!

As soon as we have new information we will post it here first thing. We should be receiving the new protype part that we have been waiting on soon, and once we do the car will go back on the Dyno. Until then it's just a waiting game for us just like you guys. Also, as long as everything is where we expect it to be when we get it back on the dyno, we will then offer a pre-order option to eliminate delays caused by a future backorder if the demand is what we are expecting. As soon as we actually have some new information to share, I will make sure to post it for you guys, thanks for your patience and cooperation.

Damn dude, I can almost guarantee you that with CAI intakes it will definitely be worth the wait, all of their intakes are top notch!

Wouldn't you rather have an intake that will gain you max power without a tune, rather than an intake that will gain you minimal power with or without a tune?

I think it will be worth the wait, just be patient.

I can understand his frustration, there is already a company that has built a CAI for the ZL1 which does not require a tune and has been shown to give you a 25-30rwhp bump. Your right CAI does build great products, but they are losing market share the longer they take.

A few things have delayed this launch to longer than we originally anticipated. We were out of power due to the backlash of the storms for nearly 5 days, the part we are waiting on has taken longer than expected, our original prototype part arrived incorrect and we had to re-make the tooling which takes time, and we are busy with normal production and other important items to keep this company operating smoothly. Unfortuantely the ZL1 is not our only priority right now, its at the top of the list but right now we are waiting on suppliers and can't do anything more until we get parts.

Bottom line, we are working as fast as we can, are waiting on parts to arrive which should be here soon, and we apologize for the delay. I understand many of you are patiently waiting for this intake, which we appreciate and want to fullfill as soon as possible, obviously we don't want to lose interest. As soon as the part comes in, if everything tests as we believe it will, we will be putting the car on the Dyno to confirm performance results and we will notify you of the pre-order option that so many of you have been requesting.

We should be really close now, thanks for your patience and cooperation.

Some ZL1 owners are not as loyal as I am to CAI but yall need to hurry up bc I believe you have already lost hundreds of orders to rotofab. I will wait for CAI, but some wont.
