IOM Delivery Today

I got the email this morning that my car left Windsor at 6am. So I hitched a ride with my brother-in-law, Ron and headed an hour drive to pick up the Hubby. After a long day of meet ya here no meet ya there, LOL and not sure if it was even getting to the dealership today, finally got a pic message from my dealer.... My car on the lot!
So we got our act together and headed over there, another hour drive to Sparta Chevrolet They Rock!! GMS!

First, I had to get a photo op with the dealer, her boss wanted it for the newspaper...can't wait to see that! Many photos later and a few signatures and we are off!

Ok, ok I know I told the 'ol man he could drive home (I drove his new truck home) BUT I had still never drove one and hey it is my car after all. So I drove first and then about 2 miles down the road I let him drive the other 40 back home. Lots of thumbs ups Lot's of Gawkers and one race request a guy in an old Buick Regal LOL, at first I just laughed at him then Derrick, my husband, said what the heck, so we were off, with a little wave out the window...Bye Bye We let him catch back up and he drove by with yet another thumbs up.

Love this car! Feels great to drive, I can't wait til morning!

Only complaint and I know I have read about it on here...My front bumper does not match the fender paint :( I will prolly over look it because we are getting custom paint and it won't be so noticeable

how did you get plates before delivery or registration? can you order plates of a none registerd car

I ordered them for a vehicle that I already have, just never put it on cuz the tag didn't expire until June. So I figured I wouldn't have too much trouble lol Then the dealer just did a plate xfer. Now I just have to go get e new plate for the other vehicle.

StlRomAniaN - The driving is great! Didn't do a lot because it was getting dark, started to rain and this is deer country. I will have it out tomorrow and take some more pics. For now she is tucked away in bed.

I dont want to go in panic mode - but is the color mismatch that obvious at front ? That seems like a very basic thing that you would really want to be right.

I agree that I want it to be right, but man I just can't imagine taking it back now LOL. Also, like I said, it will be painted black across the top so it won't show. It seems that the paint gets darker as you go down the bumper, so it matches better at the bottom. I will prolly call my dealer and go over my options

Congrats on receiving your car, sorry the paint difference is so visible. Guess no one else is going to say anything about the paint? If that was my car that would be unacceptable, I would take close but I've seen these mismatched bumpers in person. Some cars are right on, others like this stick out like a soar thumb. I've been tired of saying it it's not the angle not the lighting and not the camera. They are these vast differences in shade that really detracts from this beautiful car. I'm not whining and I'm not complaining so please stop responding that way. I and others here have been sounding the alarm for a while but no one seams to care. These are production cars not captured test fleets or dealer demos. I know the dealerships and GM seeing this should be willing to repaint the bumper to match, but we get no response and no reaction. Possibly due to having lot's of picky people out there and worried they will needlessly be painting every other bumper.

I thought it was the angle/camera also, until I saw my car today. It is very noticeable in person. I will call my dealer to see what can be done. I just don't know if I will persue it since I will be painting the part that is discolored.

From the looks of your model you will be doing the top the sides will still show some difference but it won't be as bad. The thing that is obvious not everyone is going to repaint a bran new car. I've probably seen a dozen or so production cars and several of them had this problem. Just like we've mounted other awareness campaigns here, we need to do the same so GM either gets it right at the factory or fixes the problem at the dealership level. Maybe now that we have several people that once thought as you did, we will get more attention. I'm tired of hearing that it was the lighting, or the camera, or the angle. Heck I can live with orange peal just make my panels match.
