xm sat reception issues

Ive had my car not about 10 weeks never had a issue with xm signal (besides underpasses and very poor out of reach signal areas) but 90% of the time its spot on , the last few days its 20% at best going in and out, hissing , loses signal all-together..

think it might be a issue with the ant? (aka sharkfin) or does xm sometimes have issues with signal?

anyone else?

I had trouble last monday, coming home from the Hot Rod Power tour, never had a problem before or since. Not sure what the deal was. I blamed it on solar flares !!

If you're only getting signal about 20% of the time, you may want to have the dealership check the antenna if it continues. Even in the very mountainous area that I live in where I do lose signal some, it's never been anything like that.

I've only had my car for a week and a half and have noticed cut outs on many stations while driving around my neighborhood. I'd go with an estimate of 90% coverage where I've driven in the DFW area, but the drops are REALLY annoying. This is apparently an issue with SeriusXM on the Camaros. Rather sad, since I drove a 2009 Buick across country last fall for a relative and never once dropped a SeriusXM station...

From what I've read, it is also affected by the sun roof. ie: if you have the sun roof open, as it lays back in front of the antenna, will cause signal loss. I have the same issue in the wifes Grand Prix.

I think there have been a number of threads regarding poor XM reception, but it seems that there hasn't been a solution reported. My wife's '06 G6 gets way better reception on the same roads/conditions than my car.
