How Often Do You Wash & Wax Your Camaro?

I know everyone who owns their Camaro love keeping it squeaky..clean and dust free. I just recently wash, wax, and armor all the interior. Just thought i'd find out what day of the week and how often you wash your Camaro.

Don't you hate when you finish doing all this and it rains the next day?

Name what you use to wash your car, wax, and polish the interior and wheels with too!

I wax it monthly or so-- I use Porter-Cable and Adams-- but I have to wash it every day because I live on a dirt road, and IBM is NOT pretty when it's dusty.

Quick rinse every few days, a full wash once or twice a week this time of year. But it rains SO MUCH here it's impossible to keep clean all the time.

Wash with warm water and mcguires, then wax with turtle black (still trying to get the stains out from under my nails!). Dry with a genuine chamois.

Put her in the garage this morning to avoid the morning mist.

Wash at least once per week with Zaino Z-7 car wash. Use California Duster and Zaino Z-6 to maintain between washes. Polish (I never use wax) with Zaino Z-5 about once a month by hand. I use the Zaino clay bar when needed. I did the wash and clay this morning and am about to start putting on a layer or three of polish.

I was not aware you layer polish? You can move up to finer polishes but polish is an abrasive to buff with, and wax is layered to enhance shine and protect...

Zaino is a polymer polish. Non abrasive, and can be layered. Wax is obsolete. Check out the site. I have been using it for about 11 years and love it. The more layers you put on, the deeper and wetter the look. And, you don't remove it every time you do an additional layer like with wax. The shine and beading of water lasts longer than any wax could hope for, as it doesn't cloud over time. Great stuff.

Non-abrasive=not a polish. Just to avoid confusion.

Give it a little tappy tap

agreed.

its a bit of a misnomer to call those products 'polishes'... doesn't mean they don't work, but it can make it a little confusing.

what zaino does would more accurately qualify it as a sealant.

I wash 1-2 times a week, full interior detail every other week.

California duster almost daily, QD and or WW as needed.

Adams Machine Sealant - every 4 months.

Adams Glaze and Americana - every 4 weeks in summer, 6-8 weeks in winter.

Full car detail (every 6 months), the usual plus:
Clay
Adams SSHR/SHR (as needed) FMP
Adams Sealant, glaze, then Americana

Here are some pics from earlier today after a wash, quick sealant and a coat of Americana

Well, call Sal Zaino and tell him to stop calling his products polishes, then. But, the product is called by its creator: Show Car Polish. Therefore, I refer to it as such. But, thanks for the education.

Yeah he really should start labeling his stuff properly. That's something Turtle Wax would do.

Give it a little tappy tap

I think I clean my car more than I drive it.

I clean my car after every ride. I remove the dust with a duster and the dead insect with Armor All insects cleaning wipes.
Then do I clean the windows and the wheels.
After that, I clean the surface with Meguiar's Quik Detailer and polish it with a microfiber towel.
BTW: My car never gets wet and it is no daily driver.

wash once a week or after a rain
I leave an hour early for work and touch up daily (with detail spray, vacuum, dash, windows, rims, engine bay)
right now on a schedule to wax every 4 months
Just got my Adams starter kit with porter cable- will probably start all over saturday with swirl remover (a very small amount of swirl) machine polish, sealant and then brilliant glaze.

washing/waxing/detailing is not a chore it is an obsession.

In some ways I am not happy about this either. I cannot get a spot on my car without getting out the detail spray. And the thing is the cleaner more shiny you get your car, the more compliments you get, the more compliments you get the more you want to clean- it is a never ending circle.

And dont get me started on the windows! I doubt i cleaned my windows on my last car a dozen times in 10 years. Yet now I have found the cleaner you get them the more you notice a smudge. In some ways I would be better off letting the goo form on the outside of the window so I wont be a paranoid anti-smudge geek.

Thats all of my venting, thank you for your time

The 10, 5 rule. If it hasn't been washed in 10 days, wash. If it isn't going to rain for 5 days, wash. Obviously use both rules together.

Wax once every 3-6 months depending on type of wax. Anything else is completely unnecessary.
