Just a question on gas?

I have a 2012 V6 I'm using 87 octane (dealer recommended ) , does anyone use higher octane and if so what kind of results in fuel mileage and or performance?

For the .30 difference in price I run premium only since day one. I also run my car hard. I can say on cruise control @ 65mph I'll average 31.3 mpg. On the track I'll go 13.07 with the help of a NYTREX Nitrous system. So I may not be the best person to answer.

It happened to me too when I was new, so no worries OP. FWIW, I use 87 Shell, but have wanted to try 91 to see if there are any differences.

87 is the MINIMUM. Its possible and even likely that unless you drive like a grandma your Camaro may retard the ignition to stop pinging under hard acceleration or high load conditions. This robs power. Did you buy a Camaro to drive conservatively? If so buy 87. I'm not paying all this money for a new car to save $3-4 a tank on gas. Put in the good stuff. JMO.

i started putn 91 when i first got it. then theories of 'you only upgrade to 91 if your SC or TT' convinced me that the extra $16 a month ive been putn for 91 was worthless, so i switched back to 87.. but now im racing with mods... back to 91 haha
