Last track test I cared to read about that hunk of shit, it ate a wall at VIR due to a brake failure...I'm sure track cars are not supposed to do that. You bought into the hype, congratulations. Concern yourself with comparing your counterparts, the FRS and the Miata, you're outclassed here in every way by any SS. And built better inside and out? Lol I came from a G37S Coupe, and while using better materials, it's definitely not built better, and 370Z even less so.
I can see a SS beating a Z on some tracks, but no way is the SS going to feel as good going around a track. I simply do not believe it. The 370z is lighter and easier to see out of. Steering feel in the camaro is terrible also. or maybe i have gotten to use to European cars now. either way i hate it.

another thing the Z and SS are not made for the track, they are made for the road. You really don't think there is a SS out there that had a part fail on a track ? each car has there faults.

Again the SS might be faster, but i would bet the Z is going to be more enjoyable. after owning a SS and driving a 370z.

The 1LE was made for the track. Also that's all a matter of a opinion on which car would be more fun. We're just stating the the 370 will not beat the Campari in a drag race

very impressive for a stock. How do you launch your car ? What tire pressure? What rpm do u shift at ? My best 60 ft was a 2.11 and I can't seem to beat it.

I'm not talking about "feel", I'm talking about performance. An FRS/BRZ "feels" better than most cars above it's price range, but it doesn't beat them in performance. A stock FE4 SS, and I would say even an FE3 SS, would beat the 370z. For the price of a 370Z with a sport package you can get a 1LE, and that is not even a contest. Not bad for a car with 4 seats, that weights 500lbs more, performs better, and gets better gas mileage. I like the 370Z, but it's not in the same class as new GTs and SSs. Hell, the 2010 GT with the track pack was faster then the 370Z, and the 2010 track pack suspension is the base suspension for 2011 and newer GTs.

people use the term made for track way to easily.

The way people need to start talking is this, the car was made with the track in mind.

a car made for the track is going to be loud, rock hard suspension, roll rages, etc... not street legal.

Well the car was made to go to the track with and leave without having to trailer a car there. Well regardless the 1LE is more track orientated than te 370

I rev the piss out of my car at camaros all day long and then dust them!!!! Haha, just kidding, i didn't buy my car to drag race.

Listen, even though the guy might have been an @ss, you never know what work he has done to his car. Your car is essentially stock so if this guy has FBO, Tune, maybe even FI, you may be looking at more than you can handle.

Most G37 owners put on an exhaust and wheels and they are done. Essentially they mod for show. However, most 370z owners mod for performance. They are much lighter than your camaro and even though the VQ does not respond as well as LS engines do to mods, he still could be pushing approx 310-320 rwhp with FBO and tune. FI will put them to a minimum of 400 rwhp. Anyway, don't underestimate your opponent and most of all have fun. A car guy is a car guy so do the race and let us know how it goes.

BTW, little rascals wave is a little gay lol. I like the little rascals but I would never do that to a another random guy, he may have thought you were hitting on him.

Edit: WOw, this thread is old. Looks like the guy was an @ss hat and didn't show up. 370z = win on road/autocross track. Camaro SS = win on 1/4 mile track. This has all been debated to death.

The camaro SS with the 1LE package which = the price of the 370 will leave the 370 on everything track, drag, auto cross, street(if people are down for that) it's a nice car but way overpriced for its performance

+1 sold my heavily modded G35 Coupe for this car.

While stylish and fun to drive even modded to 375rwhp it was still pretty slow.

OP doesn't have 1LE therefore it's not part of the discussion. We all know that the OP is stock but nobody knew what the other driver had.

Hence why I wrote Camaro SS NOT Camaro SS 1LE.

I think the SS beats the 370 still around a road course without the 1LE

No way in hell.

Nürburgring
2010 Camaro SS: 8:20 (Chevrolet Test Team)
2010 Nissan 370z: 8:11.28 (Best Motoring)

Looks like the 370z is faster on a roadrace/autocross than the camaro SS.

Really? Care to provide a reference for that time? The 350Z ran an 8:26. I am unaware of an official 370Z run.

The only head-to-head, same day comparison I've seen is at VIR from the 2009 Lightning Lap.

2010 Camaro SS: 3:09.5, peak 135.9 mph
2010 370Z NISMO: 3:12.0, peak 127.2 mph

Not to mention the NISMO ended up in the wall after its not-made-for-the-track $hitty brakes gave out.
