It is free for the most part...the inside island lane is closed off on Saturday and open to those with cruise-lane decals displayed. Only antique, classic, or special interest vehicles can get a cruise-lane decal...they are $20. Two other lanes are open to general traffic and those cruisers without the lane sticker.
I am not sure how much the car show is...I believe last year they were asking for donations, no set amount. Could be different this year. That is being held at Colonial Dodge at Gratiot and Stephens. I will be there with my Chevelle for the show. One word of caution...behave yourself. They are not tolerant of burnouts, displays of speed, etc. The police are out in force at this event and will enforce all traffic laws to the full extent.

Yeah I forgot about that....there were a lot of Camaros down there past few years. If you have a Camaro, I guess that is the place to be.

I was out from about 1pm to 2:30pm. I only cruised - I bought one of the inside lane tickets when I got out there. For $20, it was nice to be able to go 20mph instead of 10mph.
Had a good time, though. Saw a LOT of 5th gens on my way home -- 5 on Sugarbush Rd alone, which is a light traffic road so I was surprised to see so many. I was in my '94 Camaro.

Just got back myself. The weather held out, breeze helped. As long as you were in the shade, was not bad at all. Did not get uncomfortable until I cruised midday....man it was hot in the Chevelle (no a/c!) Got a trophy from the show and saw lots of nice cars today. The Eastpointe Gratiot Cruise is my favorite (I grew up and bought my first house down there.)
