Kooks Header installed by a non-wrencher
I installed my Kooks headers on my '11 SS vert yesterday. I won't try to make you think it was easy but it wasn't too bad. We had access to a computer and referenced a couple install threads from this forum, and they were a great help!!
First of all I had a lift and access to an incredible set of tools. When I came to a "dead end" there was some good help to keep me moving. This job is a no brainer if you have worked on cars before and have basic tools. The hardest part was working on the passenger side but drivers side was a breeze. I had both headers bolted up in two hours. I replaced the plugs in that time as well. oh, putting the dipstick tube back in was a b*tch as others have mentioned. Under the car was easy as well, no modifications needed, straight up bolt-on. I started at 9:30am and was buttoned up at 5pm (headers, Vararam, 160 stat) and had a great tuner handy named Chuck COW who pulled it all together with a street tune and his COW Booster. It's a new beast now.. lots of fun to drive now. My hands are sore a cut up but that will all heal up.. |
