Since you have the BA system in your car, adding an aftermarket amp will be much easier by using the following product from SubThump:

http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170290

Using the above product, I added a JL Audio xd400 to replace the factory BA amp.

As far as speakers, you will get a lot of different answers as far as which brand to get. I'm perfectly happy with my Alpine Type-R components and 6x9's, but some brands that I've seen mentioned are:

Hybrid Audio Technology
Focal
Hertz

Also, what is your budget?

By using Subthump's FARK harness, the JL xd amp was plug and play.

Although that question was directed at Iwantone2, I'll give you a link to the amp he is referring to since he hasn't seen this yet.

Hope that helps!

Well, it won't be completely plug and play since you'll still have to run power from the battery to the amp. SubThump's harness will come with instructions on how to connect the cable from the harness into the amp.

Not quite sure off the top of my head what the wattage of the stock amp is, but any aftermarket amp will definitely help with sound

Click on the link in my first reply. It should tell you where to purchase it.

To be honest, my settings were a lot different because I had the Alpine speakers installed. So I set the amp settings to output full range to the speakers so that the crossover in the components could do the work.

If you are referring to size, yes the rear speakers are 6x9. Unfortunately, they are not plug and play. I believe Steve at SubThump sells a harness for the rear speakers. If I were you, I would contact Steve for details.
